Put in 3" Drop srings and measured out my spindles because it turns out that there are 3" drop spindles made and I have a set!
After riding around a bit, looks (and sounds) like 6" drop is too much with tall tires. Some rubbing issues on the outer end of the fender lip. See the proof. |

Took a few shots with the 6" drop up front. Seems like she rides nice with the CPP 3" springs but can't really take it up to speed. It sure looks good.

So after the 3" springs, cut 3/4 of a coil off the 2" ECE springs and put them back in. That was also too much, raised up about 3/8" only, still not enough to clear the inner fenders so I ran up to LivRat and got a pair of stock springs.
This time I took the measurements for later reference. I like to measure from the center of the fender lip to the ceter of the spindle because this disance should not change based on the size of the tires or wheels. I also took the total height measurement for additional reference. All were taken from the Driver's side as the Pass side matched; 3/4 cut 2" Drop springs Ground 28-1/4" Center 14" Stock Spring Ground 31-1/2" Center 17" 1 coil cut Stock spring Ground 30-1/4" Center 16" And that is what I have in now. Until I can reform the outer section of the inners, this will have to do. |

Two problems with that. I just spent good money on this set and I am looking for the tires to 'tuck.'
I want to get the tire up in the fender for 'the look' and if I lower the tire profile the truck will just need to be lower to get her to look right. Just have to live with it for now. Last edited by Hard Luck; 12-02-2012 at 11:26 PM. |

New addition, 69 Trailer bed. It is a truck arm coil spring frame. Plan on it matching the truck.

Man this truck is looking really good. That's a really neat idea to match the trailer to the truck. Other than that I have a quick question, before you got your new wheels/tires, do you know the front and rear or even just the rear tire size you had at first? In the first page of pictures?

15" rims all the way around with BFG radial T/A tires. 8" in front and 10" in rear. 235/60/15and 295/70/15 . I think Coker is the only place that can still get that rear tire size
