Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

Mike I should be sending you some more material tomorrow.
Maybe enough for 15 pair of spacers.
I'll let you know for sure tomorrow.

Would it be possible to get some 1/8" or 3/16"? The 1/4" is a bit thick. I'll buy another set and be the guinea pig for them.

I'm out of material.
I'm sure someone sells it though.
I donated all the material (so far),... for shipping costs alone.
($12.00)

No need.
I'm just glad Mike stepped up to do the machine work.
If you want to chip in,... send some money Mike's direction.
He's the one doing all the work.

Well there you go! 10-32 X 3/4" long. I would recommend the socket head style. Thanks big-al

I might have some 1/8" scrap to cut and let you try. I will look when I get back to work on Tuesday. If not it should be pretty cheap for a small sample.

You guys are all welcome for this project!
It's really not too bad once the programming, setup and fixture was made. Then it's just load and go. I hope to get some video next run.

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

I installed the spacers a little while ago. It is incredible that you cant tell they are there unless you know about it, they look like they belong...

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

Mike,...
I found these on the internet.
These were custom machined for a set of Coys.
I wish you had a way to make these. (without the logo)

Hmmm,... what if I sent you some thicker material?

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

Looks like a piece of cake on one of our newer machines. Machining time would be more expensive though. The satin finish looks good too. Probably still need to be annodized or chromed to prevent corrosion.
After looking closer at the photos, I think that those may be made from stainless steel stock.....ouch! that would send the price through the roof!

I think they take the Coys "up a notch".
The problem is finding thick enough 6061 aluminum material.
So if anyone has a source for 4" bar stock,... let me or Mike know.

I think if we go that far it will be no problem to "personlize" them a little.

Where's everyone getting the longer screws to bolt these center caps on?

Do you remember exacly what length and size you purchased? could you post it up on here? Yes Lowes and Ace hardware should have the stainless flat head screws. If not you can get them real quick online mcmaster carr.

BTW,
your wheels look great with the spacers, thanks for the pictures!

Thanks Mike
I just looked at the receipt and it does not indicate the size but what I did was I took the cap and the spacer with me along with one of the oridignal screws, I looked at how much the original screw came out of the cap I then put the spacer behind it and got a screw that stuck out just as much with both of them together. I will go by ACE on my way home and look at the box where they were and share it with everyone to make it easier sibnce I already know it worked...

stay tuned for later tonight....
