Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Saw where you decided to sell it...where did you list it? Have you linked to this build thread? I think it would help you get the most out of it when they see the work you put into it....

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
I put it on craigslist and listed it high and make offer.
I have the bodymany getting the bed together and am going to work towards getting it on the road. I am hoping that being able to drive it, even without full interior and every detail done, will change my mind about selling. So for now I am going to keep working on it and see what happens.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Helped the body man get the bed up on saw horses today so he can continue work on it.
Since last weekend he got the tailgate handle shaved and reloactor installed. Next he is going to make up patches for the side marker light holes and the stake pocket holes. He will also be working on the bed floor. The floor is in good shape, but has some pitting. We are thinking of doing some type of liner material on the floor only. The insides of the bed and wheel tubs will be body color. I have organized parts here at home and am making a to do list. Wire gauges/lights/lockup contoler and speedo cable installed/etc.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Looks good. Depending on how much he's going to charge to fab up the stake pocket and light patches, you might want to check out board member infanti. He sells them on ebay also. They fit great and are cheap if you're paying someone to make them.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Here is basically what I plan for my truck to look like in the end, except I shaved the drip rail and will have a back bumper.

That's a good pic to use for inspiration...that was one of the first ones I saved for an idea of a look for mine...

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Latest progress pics from today. Stake pockes and rear side markers shaved. Smoothing out bed floor and filling pits. We were planning to do a liner material on the bed floor only to help cover any pitting. The bed floor is solid/not rusted thru but had some pitting. After my bodyman started working on it, he says he is now optimistic it will come out good enough to paint body color.
Next is to continue floor smoothing and working on taillamp fuel filler. I have been working on wiring the gauges and hope to have them completed tomorrow.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Got some wiring done today. Got tach/temp/speedo/fuel gauges working. Still need a few wires run for volts and need to install oil psi sender. Tried to neaten up some of the underdash wiring also. Drove her around the subdivision and up and down the cove a few times.
Next is finish up wiring to gauges. Get door pin switches installed. Prep to route wiring into doors for windows and door poppers. Also need to wire up lock up controller box.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Here are some pics from today. Just about have the cluster wrapped up.
Got all the wiring done. I used a couple of the connectors you can get at radio shack to make it easy to remove and to allow me to run the wires for the sunpro volts/oil/tach. I swapped the factory amp and oil gauge faces over to the sunpro guts/cup for a more factory look. You can also see the cool little fused junction I found at Auto Zone. Allows a hot in (key-on in my case) and six fused ckts off that. I am using it for gauge power, tach power, oil gauge power, and volt gauge currently. Will prob end up using one for accy power to radio when I get to that point. One more step in the right direction. Still need to paint cluster housing and face plate, install nicer lens that I have, and put all the bulbs sockets back in with 194 bulbs.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
I am considering it. I took a crusty cluster I had and cut it up to work with my custom gagues. I sandblasted it and have yet to paint it. Thought of going back black or maybe trying body color.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Finally some updates from today. Bed floor smoothed out surprisingly well, taillight filler came out nice, and bed should be assembled and primed by end of the day.
If all goes well she will be totally painted by next weekend, and driveable within 3 weeks. Pics from today

Took the truck to bodyman's house this evening. If all goes well, there may be some paint flying this weekend. More pics to come.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
More progress from today. If height looks a little funny, the back wheels are up off the ground just a little because axle is on jack stands.
Finally looks like a truck again.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Love the color. That is going to be a pretty truck. When are you painting the interior? Don't most peolple paint the inside first? Just curious because I'm getting close to paint on my truck.

We did not paint all the interior because it will be fully wrapped in graphite vinyl and leather. They guy helping me do the interior did the 56 chevy truck below. Picture something like this but with vinyl/leater/suede. I will prob not do the inset numbers though.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Here a some pics of where the rear bed brace was cut out between the mounting holes to clear the blazer gas tank. The cut on the under side of bed will get cleaned up and the underside of bed will be fully undercoated.
Pic of brace Brace removed
