Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90
That's a heck of a jump from 1st to 2nd, but I now kinda understand the 3.08 gear. I still think I would have gone a bit steeper though .

Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90
Thanks guys
The truck originally had 2.76 which i was going to keep but i was worried that it keep shifting between 5 & 6 with road waves so i thought 3.08 will be nice. If i feel that the truck is lazy i change sometime. |

Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90
At 65 mph and assumed 28" tall tires you will be at 2046 rpm in 5th and 1602 rpm in 6th so I think it will probably stay in 6th on the freeway with the power that L92 makes. With shorter tires it will definitely stay in 6th.

Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90
I'd love to see only 3100 at 70 mph, I'm at just under 3800 rpm even with my 32" tall tires.

Toss a turbo or two on there and you can pretty much keep the same MPG you were getting cruising down the road but have a great power increase when you want it.

Turbo will be nice but I am worried about a putting stress on the trans cause they haven't got anything for it yet although the shop told me it good to 600rwhp but that not reliable assumption it all depends on who's driving |

Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90
Update sorry crappy phone pic forgot the camera agian
Radiator support is on the truck A/C Con. bracket it looks perfect gives enough space A/C lines. New A/C compressor with the bracket from S&P Escalade radiator pipes with coolant reservoir fits perfectly it looked more like it came from the factory. Last edited by v502; 12-01-2009 at 09:29 PM. |

Re: 79 C10 swap with L92 with 6L90
Got some bad news this weekend
My bank account overseas were my incomes goes first then gets transferred here has been frozen unfortunately all the money i got to live thru is my project money for now. I will still finish the truck but i keep it within my new budget. Backed out on couple of stuff 1. Canceled my new exhaust design i will just keep the old dual flow-master but i taking cats out and will install the cutouts cause i already got them. 2. It was going to be a surprise but if i not getting it then you guys deserve to know Click here Or a paint job. All the stuff that will still be done before its on the road again by order. 1. Installing Vintage Air A/C cause i already got everything. 2. Taking the engine out and for cleaning & paint. 3. Painting and cleaning the engine bay and firewall going black. 4. Taking the heads out for exhaust valve's change cuz they are weak and fails under stress. Extra insurance 5. Installing the cam and putting engine back together and installing it after all of the above is done. 6. Changing the interior 7. Take it to get tuned and dyno'd 8. Post a burnout video I get you updated as soon i see some progress. |
