Re: Maggie's Custom
Thanks, I'm still learning, I notice the better I can see, the better my position, the better the weld! I just want all my stuff to look good all the time, I'm practicing as I go.
Not my first rodeo, but my first full on bag job! Thanks for all the comments!! Jason |

Re: Maggie's Custom
yes. I set it up to run a longer shock it need be. I put the shock at mid travel at ride height, but when I fully extended the shock it didn't look as if the suspension went that high. The shock has 6 1/2 inches of travel. I won't know how it works until the truck is on the road. I did the same on the front, I sent the shock and mid travel at ride height (the front shock has 5 inches of travel) I'll post pics soon!

Re: Maggie's Custom
Started working on front shock mount last night! Got one side done!
Started by cutting off the inside shock mount and making a template to reinforce the outter mount. Than cutting, fitting, and welding a 1/8 thick peice. more to come |

Re: Maggie's Custom
For the upper mount I took a peice of 2x3 and cut it down until it fit the way I wanted.

Got the driver side done! I reused my template from the passanger side (just reversed it). I love this little plasma cutter!!
Put it in the bender! Than welded it in place. (sorry pic) |

Re: Maggie's Custom
I srewed up all my picture posting as I was in a hurry!! Last night was Maggie's graduation ceremony!! (no not high school) She wanted to take her pictures with the truck but it not done. This is the best I could do, taken just as she was walking out the door!
We had a small party after and I took today off from the truck to hang out with her!! Jason |

Yes, congrats to Maggie
Don't blame you at all for spending time with her instead of working on the truck.

Re: Maggie's Custom
Did moving the front shock outward cause any interference issues with your front tires at full lock?
Looks like it would have been easier to move the brake line tab? Your work and fab skills are great! Just wondering. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Maggie's Custom
Small update. I took the bed rails, wood slat rails, and tubs out. Welded the two front bed rails together. Made some simple plates to mount the pump, tank, and valves too. And got the air bags mounted and the air lines run.
Still waiting on the correct ball joints to come from CPP, secound set they sent were wrong (miss bagged) and I'm also still waiting on my two steel wheels from Wheel Vintiques, its now been 9 weeks, I have been given a big run around by them, hoping to have the wheels in the next week. I'm going to wire the system up this week so it should be rollong soon! Thanks Jason |

Re: Maggie's Custom
Another small update.
I made some brackets to mount the sway bar end links to. Than mounted the sway bar, super simple, but I'll show some pics none the less! Brackets. Welded them to the control arms. Mounted the sway bar. And I got the rear wheels!!!! Pics coming. |
