Mines just painted to where the rubber molding is. The whole inside of the door is one color. I could use the cross member. What type is it?

I also started working on repairing two cracks in my steering wheel. Man that two part epoxy stinks like sh**!

I found it better to let it sit up a slight bit before putting into the notch I created with a dremel tool because it wanted to run at first.

But then I found there is a fine line between just right and all of a sudden too late!!

Are you kidding? That stuff is hard as a rock!!!

It is a fairly common way of fixing those stress cracks. The metal rod is still in the core of the wheel, but the plastic cracks.It can be sanded off and painted now. hop eto get that done next week. Thought I would today, but my neighbor trash talked me into a gold match this morning. After I'm through beating him I have some errands I need to take care of.

The epoxy on the steering wheel is what just about everyone used to fix the cracks. The only thing you need do is make sure you give the epoxy enough room to form up a good bead when hard. From you picture it looks like you took your time and cleaned out a bigging "pathway" for the epoxy to set up.

Started some work on the passenger door today . Filling a few holes at bottom and lubing the widow hardware.

I need to get a passenger cab corner welded on so I can put my tank back in and start to button the inside of the cab up. The rust extended around the back a bit more on the passenger side. Do any of you know if there is a brand/company who has a larger corner (side to side) than others?

Moving along on the interior. Haven't got my column yet for automatic, so I'm putting it back together so I can drive it a bit. The color I used for the interior paint is a bit more gold and a little more metallicy than the original, but it looks good, and it was in an aerosol, so I could do it in my garage.

Got one door painted, floor is done(needs rubber mat), seat is done and waiting on new lap belts. I didn't do much to smoothe the welds out, as I know they will be covered.

What have any of you found with rubber cab/door seals from different vendors. I have heard Steele Rubber is top of the line...whew, I hope they are based on pricing!
Are there others who are ok that any of you have used?

I've got to do that to my steering wheel to - and hadn't a clue where to begin. That epoxy should be as tough as nails and last virtually forever.

Thanks Jason...it's coming along. I dropped out of the soccer scene for a bit and it has freed up a lot of time. I have a friend who asked me to coach an ODP(Olympic Development Program) team today, but preceded his question with how is the truck coming along. I made the mistake of telling him real good!

I usually don't lose any parts, but after painting my steering wheel, I find myself looking for the spring steel washer that goes on top of it for the horn. The rest of the horn stuff and screws are there...I have to look again tomorrow when I have a bit more patience and good light. If I don't find it, do any of you know where they can be had?

FOUND!! One horn contact spring! I thought I had put it on the dash, which is covered with paper as I was painting the rest of the cab....but I didn't think to look UNDER the paper!

I've seen people use kitty hair on them. But it will take away the look if you smooth it out.

I may start looking for an od 3 speed manual again. That would be neat if I could find a good one.

About to finish work on the inside of the doors and may rehang them for now. I have been waiting forever on some parts from Truck and Car Shop. Someone pointed them out and they looked to have a good supply with fair prices. They don't seem to communicate when your order leaves or provide any way of tracking!

I replaced the pins and bushings on one door. One of the hinges just flops...the other is a little tighter, but hopefully it will free up a bit. Any advice on hanging/aligning the doors?

Too late on any advice. I found the rocker will need to be redone on the passenger side and I snapped a new stainless bolt off in the a-pillar on the drivers side.

Anybody want to buy a low mileage truck?

This has becoming quite frustrating!

Well, I feel like I'm back in the saddle again. Got the passenger rocker straightened out (raised) tonight. I haven't had the balls or the strength to try the door on yet!

I also got a good start on the passenger cab corner. When I have it finished and painted, I will pretty much have the interior done!

Nice progress.....I really like the color you chose for the interior. It's very different.

Also, I hope you have a good easy-out kit for that bolt. I know I hate drilling through stainless.....

Not the exact color I wanted for the interior, but I could find it in a Duplicolor rattle can, which made it easy to do in my garage.
