Re: 1972 GMC "the beast" c20

put in a new starter, and fuel pump i like inline 6 fuel pumps a lot easier and faster to replace then my 350v8 fuel pump had a horrible time finding one went to napa, sanels, car quest, bond auto, autozone, and none had it in stock so just ordered one through napa.

Re: 1972 GMC "the beast" c20

DNORRIS009 here are those pics i took for u, as u can see the header and intake bolt clamp points are at different heights at either end of the motor, the rest are good a stud will work as u can see i found out too late and didn't run to the store for studs, i dont suggest using washers, i really should change it but am too lazy, as for how i got them to stay up as i was bolting them in, i started a couple bolts to "hang" the intake off of. i sat on the radiator support and used my right leg to kinda balance it their as i held the headers up with my left, and started all the bolts and slowly tightened them all, adjusting the intake and headers as needed. a second person would definitely help, i also took a pic of the header to clutch linkage clearance in case yours is a manual too. these were with my phone so sorry if fuzzy.

Re: 1972 GMC "the beast" c20

destroyed my rear brakes, as i slammed on the brakes when some lady walked into the road yelling at her kid she was dragging. they make a grinding squealing noise and i see what looks like wire stick out between backing plate and drum im guessing ruined springs for the shoes. so its been parked at my work need to tear it apart tomm find out what i need for parts. luckily no one was hurt and the truck stopped with out blowing a brake line (figured that happen). and my new weedwacker i bought dont work, need to return that grrr. sorry needed to vent.

Re: 1972 GMC "the beast" c20

believe load in pic is 4 above bedside as that was the last load got 58 bales that load. normally it was 3 about 47 bales a load so none fell off on the bumps. the bales were roughly 35-45 lbs so given 47bales 1645-2115lbs a load. plus me and my brother 165+180 makes 1990-2460lbs the last load at 58bales makes 2375-2955lbs moved 256bales total so i think the truck proved its worth!
