Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well the inner diameter was 6.5, the od was 7"...but still sounded a little dumb. she was telling me about another place but i wasnt even listening to her lol. i kinda figured if she was overpriced, the place she is referring me to would be too. i may have to make a few calls to houston area places, i think it would be cheaper there.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
If youre on a budget try buying some 3" flat and just try to bend it "form it". Are you still thinking of cupping the LCA's?

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
thanks. i got the door patch welded in today. i rushed it a little because i had to keep going back inside to check on the kids, so it warped a little but i hammered back some. then sprayed some "rust preventive" on it, front and back. still need to do some grinding but im losing light. tomorrow ill get the inside corner cut out. heres some pics...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
thanks low dough.
i do have a small update, i finished off the inside corner of the back door, no pics though. also, after thinking about it for a long time, i decided to shave the antennae hole. i know it doesnt sound like a big deal lol. i planned to keep it as original as possible but im starting to swing around some ideas now...but well see. making the filler plate took me nearly 45 minutes because i wanted it done right. heres the tools i used, also used some duct tape to hold the filler plate on while i tacked it. heres the plate.. ready to weld! all welded up.. shot of the backside.. then i sprayed some rust tough black enamel on it to keep it safe from rust til i primer it up. and thats it for now, waiting on some parts so i can finish up the rust replacement

It's good to see another 67-72 suburban owner on the forum; especially one that is just down the road from me. Looking forward to seeing more progress on this one!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
hmm, ive never really measured but it wouldnt be accurate anyways. the truck is in the grass and i have 3 flat tires lol. getting some good tires is on the to do list...im tired of it looking like that. i can check in the morning to give you the tire size to see how tall they are. i need to check anyways to see where a 22" would compare to them so i can use them to figure my final stance.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
tires were 225/75/15 if that helps any...
well i thought i was gonna have a full day to work, but it started raining while i was out there, so i didnt get much done. i wanted to try to get nearly the whole floor cut out, but didnt even come close. i decided to pull the rear spare tub and rear carpet. i couldnt get the floor bolts out so i had to cut around them. and out... after that i decided to weld up the bullet holes, but only got one finished. i just cut out the hole, flattened it up, then put the piece back in and welded it up.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
so...obviously not as far i wanted...but oh well i guess. i have to figure out where i can cut the frame to move it up, because i have 3 body mounts on each side that i have to modify if i go that route, plus the area i would have to cut in order to keep the rear seat mount is not completely straight, it starts to angle up there. so well see what i end up doin...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
finally....i got my floor out lol. i grinded off all the heads on the bolts then punched them through. still have to cut off my tubs but you get the idea.
waiting for the notch now... i decided to go ahead and fix the rust right behind the 3rd door...got it lined up and cut out. the piece i bought wasnt wide enough...so im gonna have to make a piece to fit i guess. this piece is from a blazer so it wasnt exactly a direct replacement but i got it cut and it fit pretty good. here it is cut out...sprayed with rust preventative then rough tough enamel. and here it is tacked in.. still have to fully weld it up, but its coming along. making the piece to fill that gap should be interesting...i really dont have anything to bend the metal to make the curve at the bottom, so well see what happens lol
