How bout some sound? Have GoPro?

My dad bought a white on black with black vinyl top in '65. Loaded, four speed. Traded for a '69 F250, 2WD, Manual, BASIC POS truck in about '85

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

I took some "artistic" pics while prepping for a car show a couple weekends ago. Here they are, if anyone's interested.

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

I also went out for a cruise Friday evening and took a few dusk shots with the lights on.

Beautiful car!

I was at Mecum auctions in Dallas last Friday and there was a Lemans in a similar color. I thought for a minute it might be yours, but it was nowhere near as nice.

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

I've been going through some old photos and came across some of the paint prep process, and a few before pictures I thought I'd share.

This is the only pic I currently have of how it looked when I first got it.

and a few girls my friend and I met while attending a nearby car show/cruise when I was back in Oregon. I think I had just graduated from High School when this was taken.

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

I went to a local park to take these pics shortly after I got my new wheels. I was in college, but I think this would have been about 2001 or 2002.

Cruising around that same car show with my dad.

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

And, here's the paint process... Used the existing paint as primer for the most part... Here it is partially disassembled with some guide-coat on it.

Getting it blocked down.

Some rust needing repair in the trunk area.

Fixed some rust, but didn't take pics during the process, just after it was primed.

Got it all blocked down, cleaned and masked for jambs to be painted...

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

And finally some color on the jambs, which I sprayed myself.

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

And some pics of it going back together..

That's all I've found for now. I know I have some pics of after it was all back together, masked before exterior paint, and during reassembly after paint. I'll post those up when I find them.

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

Took the GTO to a local show on Saturday. This shot was taken as my wife was driving her home.

And a few more before and during the show.

I think you meant Poncho ... but it will. I have the headlights already, just need to make the time to tear into it and finally rewire the whole car. I have the parts (harness, new radio, dakota digital gauges, headlights, pertronix electronic ignition), just can't bring myself to tear it apart just yet.

Yes, Poncho. I can't even blame spell check on that one.

I hate tearing into one with Spring just about to hit too.

I took the GTO to a couple of car shows over the last couple of months. Took some photos, and had one taken by a friend. Enjoy!

The 66-67's get a lot of love, but 64-65's are so cool too. I love the size of them and the proportions are just right. Awesome car!

Re: Knomadd's '65 GTO (Royal Goat)

Thank you sir. I really like the 64-65 style. The 66-67s are cool in their own right, but I don't like them as much. I'd rather have a 70 than a 66 or 67. Ultimately I'd love to have a 64 as my second GTO.
