Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
How about some pics!!! Did a little more to the windsheild and finally gathered all my parts to move them to the storage behind the shop. Got in my Calicombo tailgate delete kit last night, can't wait to open it and check it out!! And a little buzzed pinstriping from this weekend too.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
Never thought tilting the windsheild and cutting off the top of it would be so time consuming!! This is my first attempt at doing any kind of custom body work being that I just learned how to weld two weeks ago. I have a great appreciation for people who do this for a living. Weld, grind, look, weld, grind, look, repeat!! Finally got the top cover tacked on and started the final grinding for fitment. Put a downpayment on a LS1 and a 4L60E, it is being build to my specs as I am writing this. Should have it in a week or two. Pics to follow!!

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
So your slick 67 build was the first build I'd ever read through when I bought my first 67' a few years ago, fast forward to a few weeks ago when I click on your build just to see how thing we're going for that beautiful ride (one of my favorite custom parts was the air cleaner) only to be heartbroken for you seeing it wrecked. Well it's very inspiring to see you not letting that stop you from building something SLICK again, so here's to ya, hope it all comes out like you plan.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
Alright, here it is. I will get all the specs from him personally tomorrow. What I know it has is flat top pistons, .030, all aluminum block, LS3 intake, huge cam, vette springs and a few things I am forgetting right now. The trans is a 4L60e with vette servo and is built for 500 hp.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
Thanks Guys! When you tell them "no paint" you get paint apparently. I wanted the block clean so the aluminum could shine through. Guess I'll be testing out a spray can of aircraft stripper to get it off. ERRRRRR!!!

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
Another weekend and got a little done!! I completed the front of the windsheild drip rail and it's ready for body work, the back is a different story. Found a few spots that will need some attention due to rust but overall I am still happy with the condition of this old Blazer. My brilliant idea Friday to build a body dolly went full circle and actually made it happen!! Came out pretty good, may be a little high so some tweeks will need to be made. I was really concerned about the front being so heavy that it might bend the body but after taking precautions it didn't budge!

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
I'm getting myself ready to do the 1999 5.3L LM7 swap any secrets you learned on the 1st truck.. send em my way. So far I have the 5.3 4l60 complete pull out with full computer and harness uncut.
seeing your 2wd blazer makes me hesitate to take the first step in my motor swap thinking what if I find a blazer to drop this into instead! . Then I look online see the high price per pound of rust that carries a blazer nameplate or that weird dual drives shaft thing I believe they call 4x4, I just sign off the computer and cry. Are you still at that same shop I visited? Maybe I could stop by again one dsy and learn some more.

Your blazer tub looks extremely clean! I'm digging the new dolly too. Looking forward to where you go next with this build.

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd
I was pretty happy with the tub too. I suppose 2wd Blazers did better over the years than most 4X4s. Sure am glad you jumped on board with the build!!
