I went with a kit from No Limit Engineering. I did so because they had good reviews, are a sponsor of another forum I visit (and a supporting vendor on this one I believe), and their prices are good.

That said, I had to do a little engineering of my own, as this kit was designed with a shortbed Chevy in mind, and I'm going a longbed GMC. Depending on your application this could be pretty straight forward, or a little more involved, especially with measuring.

I had some issues with quality that I got resolved, and I think were a one-off. My biggest complaint is that while the product seems to be of good quality, the instructions are below standard. They're essentially copies of hand drawings, with handwriting. The first page with some measurement and step info is typed, but any illustrations are back-of-napkin quality. While not altogether a bad thing, when you compare it to something like RideTech's work you can see the difference. That said, Ridetech stuff is also more expensive, so you pay for the extra work .

I would do the No Limit kit again, primarily because I have now done it and know what I'm in for. But ask me again when I'm all done haha.

That is a great looking engine TJ! Mine is still pretty crusty. But did get a new red top optima and battery ends today. Got tired of wiggling the wore out old connector lol.

I didn't do it myself, I had it done. It's been warming up out here so I had the windows tinted the other day, kind of on a whim. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure if I like the look on the old beast but it certainly keeps the cab cooler.

They seem brighter in my garage, but i didn't really get a chance to drive much with the old set up to get a good comparison.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I installed a Grunion air ride and front disc conversion also painted the frame with POR-15 and added a train horn since I already had the compressor and air tank for the airbags.
It dropped the body about 7 to 8 inches.
It's not sitting on the floor but it makes a drastic difference in the look of the truck, for a fraction of the price and work.
I am very happy with it.
I also had to relocate the mufflers and changed the exhaust tips.

SS-7 airbags
Gauges and paddles for each bag
Compressor
2-1/2 gallon tank
All necessary hoses, fittings, and hardware
Front and rear Mcgaughy shocks
Mcgaughy drop spindles
Mcgaughy panhard bar
Mcgaughy C notch
Mcgaughy 12" Front Disc Brake Kit; 6x5.5 Bolt Pattern with calipers

See before and after pictures how she sits

Wow much better. I thought those wheels look a little out of place with that much altitude.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I got my truck back from having the 700 r4 installed. I think my drive shaft is hitting my e-brake brackets when I go over bumps so I might have to do some rearranging. Have not got a chance to drive it on the freeway at a reasonable speed to see how it functions. To much traffic

Painted my dash cluster and improved illumination. I used white paint for the back of the aluminium bezel and inside the cluster housing and red on the front of the bezel. The speedo face was a pain to mask off since the needle didn't pop off for me.

My wife was really impressed with my skills until i told her the lettering was all still the original! I added a reflector inside around the speedo so the light bounces to the front better.

One of these days i'll get the LED replacement bulbs for the lights
The PO has butchered the cluster before i got it so i'm not ruining an original

Where did you get the finned air breather from? What element does it use? Looks good and matches the valve cover. Hoping to get my 292 back from machine shop this coming week.
