Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Not liking the 6cyl, but sure liking the truck, low miles or not it is a sweet short box. Not so sure on the 15 g's though.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
I'm not trying to talk this truck up, but if that ain't the cutest little ol' truck I've ever seen! If I had the space for another vehicle, I'd be clicking "Bid Now" in a heartbeat. They're only original one time. Very, very tempting. I LIKE it.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
The point was the "hail repair" My body man does hail repair, but its plastered across the side of the building. lol. And you can only pick your neighbors if you own everything around you.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Beautiful freeze frame vehicle. Excellent history lesson on the way an unaltered base model vehicle should look like. What is shocking is how few vehicles are restored to look like this.Bling is over rated. It looks like a traditional no nonsense pickup, not a race car. Similar to a Rembrandt painting of the automotive world, only a fool would try to alter it.

Very nice and well worth it. I would love to have it myself, but wouldn't want to drive it

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Thanks! I'm hoping to be able to get some more pictures added to it tomorrow. I've had some requests for more and am hoping that it will be a little warmer tomorrow to get them taken.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Thats a really nice truck, I must say.
For me tho'...it just wouldn't work. Unfortunately, I would always want to drive it....and that is the one thing...that would de-value this particular example with that kind of original mileage. Plus, I just couldn't afford to lock it away or have it just for display purposes. Regardless, I hope a serious collector with the funds, space and time to set it up goes for it!!! Good Luck! Coley

The build sheet still has the original carbon paper attached!! Awesome! Very very nice truck.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Chevy began using stainless bumper bolts on white painted pickup bumpers in 1966. If the bumper bolts were painted white on this '71, it would be a dead giveaway someone repainted the bumpers. This truck is as authentic as they come.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Well at least now I know that I need new bolts for my '71.
I think it looks kind of tacky myself, but stock rocks! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
If I was in the market right now, I would buy it in an instant if the bottom is as clean as the top.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Stock only rocks if you like it that way, (on the bumper bolts being different) but the truck sure is nice though.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Pretty interesting, looks like they traded a 57 Chrysler and a 53 chevy pickup for it straight up. Got it for free!

For less than $500 more you could have 4wd,V8,Custom Deluxe, locking hubs,HD radiator, chrome hubcaps, and a couple other things. Check it out, they guy put down a big fat 20 for a deposit then came back with cash and drove it off...with no insurance. My how things have changed.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
IT SOLD!! (Well, at least someone bid on it - and the reserve was the starting price apparently - so it will be going to a new owner eventually when the bid is over).
Lucky bum! Wish I could grab it, but no place to put it. Oh yeah, and no money Hope to see it on this site in about 5 days!! |

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
Hope the new owner will actually drive it. If I could own it, I'd pull the motor, tranny, springs, shocks, spindles, gauge cluster and rims-swap 'em out for late model stuff (V8, 200-4r, drop spindles, lowered springs and 20's) and roll this sucker with a big ole S.E.G. on my face!
Naturally I'd keep it in a garage, and take exceptional care of the paint and interior...but I'd drive it every freakin' day! If and when it came time to sell- I'd put it all back to original and probably make my money back and then some.

Re: WOW........2023 original miles
250 , auto fan shroud, I''ll buy it if you decide to part the truck, lol. I would like to find a shroud like that though. Would like to see more pic of the engine compartment along with the auto trans set up. Very nice truck, good luck with it.
