Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

The bags are located in front of the axle, where the original springs sat on the truck arms, Thanks

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

Thanks, the headers are Schoenfeld PN: 186, 1 3/4" for a Metric clip. The drivers side height was shortened 1 1/8" for ground clearence and re angled to clear the master cylinder booster.

The wiring harness is mostly installed, here's the dash with the Dakota Digital ride heigth controller in the glove box and the Secret Audio head unit hidden behind the hinged radio delete plate.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

I feel your pain!!! My son and I are building a 1966 GTO restomod, and we said we wanted to drive it in the 2010 Power Tour...even paid for the registration as one of his Christmas presents in December 2009. Didn't make it. Life keeps getting in the way. BUT, the car is now mostly finished and he is driving it regularly... and we will be driving from Dallas to Charlotte this June in the 2013 Power Tour (lord willing!!). Keep at it and hopefully we will meet along the Power Tour this year.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

Thanks for the words of encouragement, life sure does happen! I kinda took this truck a "little" farther than I had planned, started out as a beater and I kinda kept going. The bed was fabricated from 16 ga, I learned a LOT about sheet metal warpage but I found a top notch body man that straightened out my mess. I am going to drive it in epoxy primer next year as I tend to like to change things, and primer is cheaper than paint. The rear tag is an example, with the stock bumper I couldn't fit a plate in the middle, with a 1954 bumper it works great, just took a little work to get the splash apron to fit.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

how big is your garage geeeesh??? Love the truck, your sitting on a nice ride. I really dig the dash, even though I'm a huge fan of the factory dash, this is just very fitting.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

Started trial fitting the body parts before re-primimg the scratched or modified parts. Tried to install the Chinese repop chrome grill, what a piece of s*** put the bent up original back in. Here's a couple of pictures.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

looks great, sorry to hear about the china pop off. Its a shame what our country is going into. I think it is imperative we preserve what made this country something to be proud of and I think these trucks are a great example.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

Thanks for the word of encouragement, cut, grind, weld, repeat.... sure wears ya down, but starting re-assembly provides lots of enthusiasm! I know that the offshore parts help us keep our old trucks going, but so much of these parts are frustrating junk. I am looking for a decent OEM 47-53 Chevy grill if anybody has one for sale, my top two bars are pretty good so I would consider one with a good frame and good lower 3 bars. We hung the doors and put the truck back on the ground today, here's a couple pictures.

Re: 48 5 Window air ride driver

This is a clean looking truck and it's not even together! I was considering red for my paint too but that's not set in stone. This build is looking really good and can only imagine what the final outcome is going to look like. Keep up the good work man!
