Thank you! I'm pretty excited at this stage. There are ups and downs during the process, I'm going to try to enjoy the ups more this go around.

Bolted some parts on finally. Got the axles under it, the steering box, pitman arm, trans and t-case crossmembers, shocks and a few other things. Slow progress but its rolling again. Should have the engine crossmember back next week so I can start setting the drivetrain in. I've been struggling to make a decision on the fuel tank situation, I really want to use a factory style tank with an internal fuel pump. I think I have something worked out, should know tomorrow.

For the hydroboost plumbing I ordered new lines that fit the 04 2500 donor. I ordered a pressure line for my 72 and cut the ends off of it and flared them onto the hydro lines so they would thread into my gear box. $100.00 worth of lines and a couple of flares. I bent up a return line from piece of scrap that will go over the frame rail and to the return at the pump.

I got laughed at by the guys at work on how much time I spent agonizing over drilling the new holes to move the trans crossmember back. There just wasn't a good way to measure accurately enough to make me feel comfortable. I finally got tired of being ridiculed and drilled the holes. I did find out that my frame is 1/8" out of square.

Installed the intake manifold. I replaced the original with a dorman truck manifold. I added RTV around the top of the grommets out of habit, but the water intrusion issues on the LS trucks were from a bad hood to cowl seal. I don't think that will be an issue on my rig, but the upper plate is designed like a ramp to flow water right into the harness grommets. I figured it couldn't hurt.

I stripped down the fuel rails to clean, polish and reseal. Had the injectors rebuilt locally.

Installed the engine portion of the wiring harness. Speartech does a nice job on their harnesses

Added an oil cooler block off plate, installed the crank sensor, starter and a few other odds and ends.
Unfortunately my front drive shaft is too short and rear is too long. I wasn't thinking about this ahead of time and had both powder coated. An old guy told me once "it costs money to learn to play poker", he was right. Will be measuring so I can get them corrected.
Next I will be getting my brake and fuel lines plumbed up and I'm still not sure how to overcome my gas tank issue. I really want to have an in tank, factory style pump, but don't really want a squared off custom tank.

Do some searching in the LS section guys are using the 90 blazer tanks and install backward so the filler is on the correct side. I know there is a series of years with the same tank just don't know the spread LOL. It may not appeal to you because the square end of the tank hangs down in the back. You may have to add a crossmember in the rear to attach the tank to, the mounting straps run parallel to the frame rails on the new style blazers. I will try and look later and find you a link if interested let me know.

Thanks a lot for the info and I would like any help I can get. A friend of mine did the 87-91 swap on his 71. He told me that it took quite a bit of mods to make it work. His blazer is stock height so he didn't turn it around, he moved the filler neck. He is running his pump on the rail though, so he didn't have to figure out the in tank module. I ordered a 87-91 31 gallon tank and a 90 bronco 2 tank that I read somewhere would work. Looks like at the least I will have to drill the rivets out of the rear brake line bracket and relocate it. My frame is powder coated so I would like to avoid too much welding on the frame if possible. I would love to read anything you can find. I have searched every way that I know how and haven't really found any solid solution. My tank is tiny so I'm sure I will have to move the farthest rear cross member or remove it and make something else work.

You can opt for the late 87-90 wrangler tank which is EFI ready (baffled inside as well) and is a direct bolt in with angle iron to support the tank instead of moving cross members. The tank is small at 15 gallons though.

Thanks for the link, that turned out great. I have read about people successfully using those tanks, but the 15 gallon capacity kind of scared me off. I may have to revisit that idea if I don't come up with something else. I was hoping some of you guys would share some knowledge of things you've seen people do. Thanks.
