Re: New Member, 1972 GMC 2500, Purchased New By My Grandparents
Ha, thanks Nate. I had no idea there was so much interest in the truck or it was as widely-known around Mexico as it apparently was. The truck is by no means perfect (rocker rust on the underside, dirty, oily engine bay, etc.) but it's very original and it runs well. My grandfather took very good care of it but he also used as it was meant to be used. He definitely never viewed it as more than just a truck. You guys are intimidating with your "eat off of the engine bay" trucks!

Re: New Member, 1972 GMC 2500, Purchased New By My Grandparents
I was visiting my folks tonight and they had this photo for me that my aunt found. This is my grandpa with the truck in 2000 at the Centralia (Missouri) Anchor Fest. I asked him if we could put it in the car show and he was thrilled. He was a young 89-years-old in 2000. Seeing this photo makes me very happy it stayed in the family! The caption below it says it all.

That is an awesome pic. I would for sure have that blown up just a bit and have it framed.

Wow! What a great looking truck (if you look at my profile, you'll see why I might be partial to it). Sorry about the loss of your grandparents. It's great how you kept the it in the family. Enjoy it!

Priceless picture...
Just as happy there as it was the day he brought it home.

Re: New Member, 1972 GMC 2500, Purchased New By My Grandparents
Awsome truck, and it has deep connection with you and your grandparents. I wouldnt change a thing, keep just like the way he would have drove it. you can always buy one to hotrod or 4x4. When I was 13 my grandpa gave my brother
(18) a 1970 Ford LTD loaded 429, possi green on green mint car I was so bent I wanted the car and keep it just the way Pop bought it. My brother destroyed the car. so it's always good to see a story like yours. Welcome to the site I'm new to the site & cant get enough??? If you have aproblem or ?? these guys will answer it. Keep us posted
