Mike, mine isn't planned to lay frame but it won't be far from it. It'll be very close to how Gringoloco's blazer sat after he installed the PB front end. With that much of a notch the seat should strattle it just about perfectly. Seems like the legs on my rear seat are about 6" tall so that would allow you to put a 6" tall hump in the bed which should allow you to add a 6 1/2"-7" tall C-notch. I don't have any pictures but that should help. Gringo may chime in also since he's actually done it and the new owner (sorry, name escapes me) can probably give you more info also.

Of course this is contingent on an '87 bed being basically the same as a '69-'72 but I can't imagine they would be much different.

One more thing, the padding in the rear seat is quite thick, about 6" tall. That could always be trimmed down and still be plenty confortable. Most modern car padding is only about 4" thick just more dense.

from wat i seen on porterbuilds website their new stepnotch kit only needs the floor of a pickupbed raised 4 to 5 inches doesnt say if its for the square though

Yeah, on mine the notch came in around 4" and that would have raised the stock seat an inch or so. I wasn't laying all the way out, but I like a little rake, so it worked for me.

Options would be to cut the seat down, both the bottom and top, move the seat in front of the notch, or go with an IRS. There's no easy way--part of why I ended up with the 'short' step notch.

the ones from an old vw van are like that

, you might be able to shape that frame so it will fit the stock backrest of the blazer

Nate __________________ i got a job again and having fun at it too idea's for the trucks and the order of things to do are taking shape and get closer to being realized , a few more months and i be able to start building for real i complete 2 of the trucks intoo running fashion one custom and one basicly stock the thirth will be sacrificed for parts
