Re: Hi! Jim Aust from Sport Truck and the Circus Wagon is BACK!
The date that says "Feb 2009" on-line is the date they put my story on-line, NOT the date it was in the magazine. I left Sport Truck in 2002 when they fired my good friend Kevin Lee for no reason. We both worked at the same company later for Rod & Custom together, but were both let go when they started "downsizing". That company can get people that know nothing about cars and trucks to work cheap. That's why magazines are crap and totally unimaginative. Wanna read ANOTHER bed wood install story? They seem to think you do!

Re: Hi! Jim Aust from Sport Truck and the Circus Wagon is BACK!
Jim,is that what it is? And,I thought it was me just getting cranky and particular. I stopped reading magazines years ago because they got on my nerves. They taught me nothing new and talked like something was a new thing when it was around for years. It was like they thought they were about starting trends when they were actually just waking up to what already was. I started feeling like I knew more than them. I don't follow trends anyway, even if they were on the pulse. They're nothing more than product pushers for whoever pays the bills.

A magazine can be good if the editor actually cares about putting out a quality magazine. Too many are just getting paid to fill pages.

Re: Hi! Jim Aust from Sport Truck and the Circus Wagon is BACK!
So it seems. Hearing you say it puts some fact to it. I still pick one up from time to time and enjoy it. Usually a new upstart or just more obscure, which seem less "influenced". I like to read.
I used to think I'd like writing for a mag. The older you get,the less crap you'll put up with (can you by any chance relate?). That, mixed with the direction things have gone makes it a real exercise in toleration,I'd imagine. Is there any place for me at all???? * * I'll be ok...no,really
