Re: "All Out Original 72"
I had thought about that, my tanks are wrong, I would have to find something. I haven't heard the price of re-coring since Autozone and O' Reilly's moved in 20 years ago. LOL ! We've all gotten use to going to these places, buying the quick and easy. How long has it been since you guys put a set of brushes in your starter? LOL ! We just go and get a new one now days....

Re: "All Out Original 72"
Nice, so that is what a new fuel tank cover looks like, the only ones I have seen are now mice nests.

Re: "All Out Original 72"
I hope that's what it's supposed to lQQk like??? It came in a small box rolled up. First time I put it together, I had it backwards of course! It was alot of fun getting the round stapples out, without tearing the cardboard up.

awesome build, it's refreshing to see an "original" being built.

Re: "All Out Original 72"
RoadRacer, you are truly an inspiration to me and the build Ive just started! My hats off to you sir and the fact that your a surviving cycle racer....well thats just icing on the cake of excellence you represent to anything that has wheels! Two of my closest friends were killed in bike crashes many years ago when Eddie Lawson was just showing up on the scene, Steve Sample and Mike Morgan may they rest in peace were factory riders for Kawasaki and Honda back in the early 70s. I think about them when Im rockin this old KZ and smokin some of the late model stuff Thought you might like to see her,I restored her last winter. And hey,I followed your post from the start and you seem like a stand up kind of guy,Im organizing an old biker fishin rally at Bull Shoals Arkansas,Ill PM the details, its eight weeks away and another old rider "KawPaul" from the Memphis area will be comin too.Do ya fish? Thats Lawson on a factory modified MKII w/chain. Yes sir, a real inspiration!

Re: "All Out Original 72"
Ironangel,....I'm speechless! Very touching post sir ! I raced with WERA for 7 years, all over the Eastern half. Luckily, I made it, with 4 number 1 plates, and numerous podium finishes. I was also blessed to have many great sponsorships, Suzuki, ELF, Dunlop, just to name a few. I am now 46, and have been retired from the roadracing scene for 2 years now. I miss being in the spotlight severely ! Those were the days....
I have heard the name Steve Sample, honestly. And Eddie, well we both know all about him! I'm a Schwantz fan, have been around Kev a few times, and he's been very genorous to me over the years! Great guy ! I once owned an 84' GPZ 750, with the old Kerker exhaust, remember them? My friend has 2 H2's that are prestine ! You done a fine job on yours for sure, I know it's a beast ! I know you get some head turns on that thing! PM me your details, I won't rule that out at all! Finally... THANK YOU ! For such kind, kind words!!!!! Twas a great start for awesome day! If I can be of any assisstance.....Mark |

Beautiful!!! It's almost like being in the dealer's showroom back in 1972. I bet it even has that new car smell.

Re: "All Out Original 72"
Thanks guys ! I deeply appreciate all the nice comments!!!!
GVizzle, I will keep you in mind for sure. I have a local guy wanting it really bad, I have 45k in it as it is now, a lot of that $$$ is waiting to be bolted on, but it has been spent. I'm figuring close to $60k in it before it's complete.... I know, but damn it's a nice truck! |

Re: "All Out Original 72"
It's really odd, with the new carpet, insulation, cardboard, and all the other new parts, it really does have a nice hint of that new car smell. Me likes!

Re: "All Out Original 72"
Very nice build. Did you ever get your radiator issue worked out? There is a shop in West TN that still re-cores them.
