Re: RetroSound kickpanel speaker
Sorry I just now saw this. The spacers I use are from Metra.

Re: RetroSound kickpanel speaker
@Hart_Rod - would you mind posting photos of your brake pedal mod with it off the arm - so I can see bracket and how it is now attached to the arm?
I am going to have my brother do something like this (or just like you did) but I'll want to pass on some photos so he is perfectly clear what I am looking for. He'll be doing this remotely by me sending him a parking brake assembly.

Re: RetroSound kickpanel speaker
Bumping and old thread I know. Great info on speaker set ups in here. Just wondering, the classic radio has 4 channels, no one ran two 6x9s in boxes under the seats? In addition to kick panels?(I can't imagine 6x9s would sound very clean just on their own.)
I measured under my seat tonight and there is about 10 inches between bottom of seat and floor, so enough room for 6x9 box, even with lowered seat brackets |

Re: RetroSound kickpanel speaker
i was going to shim up the seat rails about an inch with spacer blocks and then put a couple of these under mine with upgraded pioneer 6 inch speakers in the kick panels

Re: RetroSound kickpanel speaker
Something to think about. Every 6x9 I have seen and most car audio speakers 6" and smaller are designed for infinite baffle installation. Meaning no box or a leaky box. ie a door, trunk etc. Putting an IB speaker in a smaller box/enclosure will limit mid bass/bass response. Any air leakage from rear of speaker to front will also cancel mid bass/bass output. Those speakers in the small kick panels are probably dropping out at 300-600hz at best. Adjust sub crossover accordingly. If the sub reaches that high.
