I decided that a gift card would benefit her more than anything. It will enable Jodie the pure bliss of picking out exactly what she wants (and unfortunately needs). If I haven't said it, this board has some seriously cool people. I'm glad I could be part of this.

how about gift cards for parts from board vendors.
as soon as i sell my 72 in the truck forum i will be able to donate some $ i would love to see this truck get done. it would be something great that the board can be proud of any thaught to get getting some Quotes from the local body shops. i did a search and it looks like theres alot of body shops in her area. just a thaught.

Well seeing how I just came back to the board after a leave of absence, yeah that's it.and just getting back into things, I had alot of catching up to do and still do. I just caught this thread today.
I may not be able to help out much, but someone from Ontario up here in Canada has to help. I can't help much seeing how my fiancé is now just starting to work after 2 years of no job( yes it was hard and still is catching up), plus with my truck in pieces and never getting anywhere ( lack of $$$), I can probably manage to send down 200$ to help get things moving along. I know it was for the burb, but there are always other things that people need like FURNITURE or whatever. I would like to send it through paypal though so the currency is converter from funny money to U.S.$$. Is there an address I can send it directly to Jodie(through paypal)??? I figured a dancing pink elephant would be a good thing right now, lol.

I just can't believe I strayed away from here for so long, but I guess with 2 jobs, racing, running 2 other message forums and making websites for people, I just didn't have that much extra time, lmfao.
When you do find out let me know, I am sure my fiancé will agree with me on this one, we may not have much ( still no house, we are both back with our parents due to the $$ issue) but we are always willing to help out.

I will be leaving Beaumont for Atlanta next Thursday. Down IH 10, to IH 65, and up that way. If anyone needs anything dropped off let me know on this thread or my other thread I started about this trip.

Scoti, THANK YOU! "seriously cool" is good, but dont even begin to describe it!! I can make a list of tools etc as they come in if it would make it easier, I dont have much of anything, so I really dont know where to begin to make a list of what I need, and I dont know whats been sent yet either.
jc, THANK YOU! thats a very good idea. Ive never really gotten any quotes from body shops, cause I knew it was just way outta my finantial league. I dont know if I would trust any one right here local anyways, Have never talked to any one who have raved on any of them. GMC69. THANK YOU! I was just asking about a Pay Pal account, I know I had one years ago, but think I only used it once, if some one could tell me how to do it, I can set one up, isnt it linked directly to your bank account? PS... I loved the pink elephant, lol 68c15.. THANK YOU! Inspector THANK YOU! Bestchevyfan.. THANK YOU! I will try to make a list as things are sent to me, Ive have no idea what people have sent. To all my "board angels" Yall have touched me in ways that I cant even begin to express. Yall have given me new hope, not just for keeping my truck, but in my personal life too, I have had so many changes in my life in the last couple months, some good, some really bad, y'all have helped me thru it all, and given me encouragement and hope. THANK YOU!!!!! take care junk

Andy/jody,
I don't know what all she has gotten but I've got alot of extra Craftsman sockets (1/4" drive, 3/8" drive, and 1/2" drive) that I've collected from different jobs I've done for my company. If you get me a list of what is needed and an address to send them to I can send them out. Also I've got alot of Taiwan tools that I have replaced with Craftsman tools as I go along. When I travel on different jobs I can not take all my tools so I normally end up buying knew when I get to the job and then shipping them home. This of course results in a lot of duplicate tools in my box. So give me a list including hand tools and possibly some power tools she needs and I will see what I've got. Just don't tell the wife or she'll think I'm flirting with some girl online (just kidding) lol. Last edited by GloryHound; 07-23-2005 at 09:50 AM. |

I was just telling Andrew and another board member, that any cash that is sent to me, will stay in my savings account, until Ihave enough to buy a "run around" car to drive so that I can tear into my truck and take my time and hopefully get things done right, with the rain and all the humidity, and with no garage or carport etc.. Im very limited on the time I have to work on my truck, This would be a great help. Also when I do get tools/ time, hopefully someone can coach me on exactly HOW to do it all right, lol... every time I try to take care of rust, it comes right back, not sure if its the humidity or what, the work I did in Ca, is still good, no return rust yet. Thank You so SO much to all my "Board Angels" take care junk

The two biggest issues in holding the rust-monkeys at bay are getting all the rust when you do a repair (rust catalyses rust) and addressing the issue that got the rust started in the first place (usualy something that either lest moister get where it oughtn't or something that permits it to sit there instead of draining away.)
