Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

On my chevelle, I found a bunch of soda tabs... shoved in the fuse box instead of fuses, and the original protecto plate.

Why are none of the pictures loading for me btw? This is the first time I've been back since the boards makeover (very nice) and none of the attached images are showing up.

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

Okay, I am going to get hammered for even buying this car so let me explain. It was $1500 and the story I heard was he parked it there 2 years ago and had not tried to start it since. It was a 1963 Mercury Comet with a 302/C4 combo. Disk brakes and didn't appear to be too chopped up. Long story short I got it running the afternoon I brought it home. New tires, Wheels, Transmission, U joints. Still shook like crazy at high RPMs. Sold it for $1800. That's what you get I guess. Anyway bought it from a tattoo artist (as if you can't tell by looking at it). The trunk was full to the top with all sorts of wierd stuff! T-shirts that were new, unopened cigarette packs, those little rocket kits and some legal paper work from a lawyer (I think it was child custody stuff) An original A/C unit for the car was even under there. I spent the entire day throwing crap away. Lots of fun. I think I will stick to Chevys from now on. It did look really cool though!

Did not find these in a truck but in a couple of cars, 25 auto with holster (kept) and a little bag of green stuff (did not keep).

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

When I got my 82 firebird, I found all the service records from 90-01 from the 3rd owner in the console and the owners manual. Under the console I found 26 cents, a few Gynocologists office papers from Idaho with the orginal owners name on them dated 1984 and a match book.

Back in the day my parents got a Pinto from a used car dealer. It was only a year old, a GI getting shipped out of state had it on the lot for consignment, I was like 5 or so. About a year latter my mom brother and I were in the car driving. Me being of that age decided to pull on this plastic peice poking out behind the console. Out comes a huge bag of weed! My dad pulled the rest of the console out later and found money too which I got none of. My dad and my brothers spend a day tearing the car apart looking for more money.

a drunk.....apparently couldn't make it home, so he decided my back yard and the 67 were a good place to sleep it off....sure was fun waking him in the morning, he didn't have a clue where he was. No harm done, just the look on his face when I scared(woke) him was worth it.

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

Well i didn't find anything really interesting with mine, just the build sheet. My old man was original owner though so i have the owners manual, papers where he called all the dealerships in the valley to find the one that would give him the best deal, original keys and original AZ. title. Wish he still had the original license plate, oh well i have a 1971 OK. plate on it now. If any of you guys have a 1971 AZ. plate let me know!

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

Found a; red devil fishing lure, sand wedge , etc... 2 garbage bags worth of paper and junk. and i was going to call guiness on the amount of spiders that came out of it while tearing it apart, for two weeks straight spraying every 6 hours they still kept coming. on the day to pick it up a 70' tree landed right beside it only grazing it, two seconds later i found a horeshoe in the back of the bed, since then its all i spend my money on! i think i was meant to have this truck.

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

found a "complete" tool kit: phillips screw driver, flat head screw driver, pair of pliers, & a pair of needle nose pliers. figured they made the trip home in the truck, so i cleaned them up, and keep them in it.

also found 4 fuses replaced with heavy duty aluminum rolled up the size of fuses. unfortunately, i found these the hard way... had a cab fire going down the road!!! fortunately, it went out quickly, and all i had to do was re-wire the cab & part of the engine bay

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

I'm surprised more ppl havent found shells. i know atleast one person said they did.

When i pulled out the old carpet rubber and foam from the back of my blazer, i found TONS of shells, 9mm, 22s, shot gun shells...

I've found -weed- i've lost in my truck for months at a time. Cops found weed in my truck back in the day too, let me keep it (and the pipe). That was a long story though. Good thing they were more impressed with the blazer vs. their jobs.

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

Not going to believe this but my 72 Chevy Camper special was purchased at a goverment abandonded vehicle auction for $300 bucks well when I got it towed home And began the destruction I found 10 $100 dollar bills shoved underneath the seat cushion cover and the seat cusion, they were in an envelope marked Truck Payment. Talk about a happy camper

Re: Found something really cool under the hood of my truck!

When I ripped the carpet up recently I found about a dollar in loose change, none of which was newer than about 1971 so pretty contemporary with the truck, also means that no-one in the UK has had the carpet up since it's been here. Can't wait to see what I find when I take the set out, I did find a wrench and screwdriver in the front wing behind the battery.
