Re: "DOORED" my truck this weekend

TIRES:265/35/22
Fenders:trailer store or tractor supply
Arms:I'll ask him Thurs. or Fri.
Hinges:maybe, it will be like the new HD hoods, kind of a full cowl when the hood part is made.
Compliments: Thanks Everyone!
Hopefully I will get it all thrown together within the next few weeks get some insurance on it and go "SET THE NIGHT ON FIREEEEE! yea!"

I'm starting my bodydrop and I'm going to do the same raised floor. That's 5 inches total right? Do you have any advise before I start to hack my truck up? Thanks, Cory

If you want to just lay rocker you wont really need to do a body drop... section or new front cross member or Z the front frame... and then back half it... If you want to lay door, then you will need to raise the floor in a traditional body drop

Re: "DOORED" my truck this weekend

Just run 2x3 box in your frame rails and blast the bottoms off and Z it 3 in and back half. No need for the body drop. THUNDER What does your door to ground measure? Im at 1 3/4" right now and thats with 2x4 in the frame rails. And a 2 3/4Z and a 1 1/8 X-member drop.

It sits 4-1 now. Got the ol 15" rallys on today, I am going to sandblast the whole truck and start fresh in 2 weeks. I would break out the blaster faster but Heatwave is this coming weekend, sadly I'm not gonna make it showing the truck

Re: "DOORED" my truck this weekend

7Deuce... STOCK does not SUCK as you put it! Since when have all of these trucks been so radically lowered??? How the heck do you drive these things, (one bump in the road and your toast) this seems like another fad. With these classic trucks 5-10 years from now people are going to be saying what happened to all of the classic STOCK original trucks??? We should run a poll Stock vs Radically Lowered! What do you like???

You're probably not going to get very much "stock support" in a thread titled "DOORED" my truck this weekend. In addition, this "poll" has been run time and time again. The net result has been a near 50/50 split, with lots of "stock like a rock" and "stock sucks" posts. Fad or otherwise, it's what people want to do to their trucks. Be thankful you don't have to own them. And... be thankful that your stock truck potentially goes up in value every time someone hacks into one of these things. In a few hundred years, you're going to have a heck of a collectors' item.
