Re: Bagged project progress
Guess what?...
Pictures! since I know that's what everyone looks at anyway So I had to replace a lot of metal- corners, inner and outer rockers, bottom of the A pillar, cab supports, and parts of the floor. Did I mention I have never done this before? lol So the plan is to have this thing running by summer. Im setting deadlines week by week until it is done. hopefully by this weekend I want all the new metal tacked in.

Re: Bagged project progress
Quick question. When your going that low, you have to notch the cab also so the driveline fits right?
My truck i just have a regular notch in it and when its all aired out, the driveline is | | that far away from the bottom of the cab... |

Re: Bagged project progress
Ya got a few options with the DS. One is to notch the cab, or run a 2 piece shaft which im gonna try to do- just gotta find one.
and the body work is.... time consuming to get it actually nice, and I am by no means a body guy- so its not exactly factory looking but its solid. Do the pass side first, i promise that the driver will come out better. there are a lot of little things that i kinda figured out as I did it, if i could remember them all right now i would tell ya. PM me or something as you get closer and ill see what i can remember Welding stuff up tonight! pics later this weekend.

Re: Bagged project progress
nah, i would def be in the rear of the cab. The truck more than lays out in the rear. I will probally lay in the front, but if not im only 1/2 inch or so off the ground- which im gonna fix if the weight of it dosent get that extra space. Or maybe ill actually be able to live with it.

Re: Bagged project progress
Well, A little more to report.
been doing metal work, so far I have all the holes from the trim filled, filler neck filled. One fender done (trim holes and marker light filled), and im working on making the firewall look a little better. I also got found a place for the tank/bag gauges, and where the heater/ac controls used to be will now fit a head unit. and I cant forget my help! I also picked up a 67 hood, in hopes that I can find a way to fit it on. And a pretty nice GMC gate from Az. Both thanks to this forum! well, more updates soon I hope!

Re: Bagged project progress
VERY, very nice...I love that look shaved firewall which retains the stock shape...The flat smooth ones look good on certain trucks but to me a firewall smoothed like this is perfection!
