Ken, I'm droolin'. Beautiful truck. Do you drive it much? Perhaps you can give us a photo of under the hood and an interior cab shot. Thanks

Re: Longhorn head count!
I drive it almost every day when its nice out but it is a third vehicle for me, I'll have to get an under hood shot and cab shots tomm. Still has the original hose clamps.. In fact I just replaced the original upper hose a few days ago. Still has T-3 head light bulbs in it.

Re: Longhorn head count!
I'd love to have a 9 foot bedded stepside truck. I came across one on CL two years ago and it was in my price range, but it was too far gone for me to tackle at the time.
If my truck was lost for whatever reason, I'd really be after a 9 foot bed stepper. |

Re: Longhorn head count!
Very nice and not a color combo you see very often. Is that a US truck you imported or a Canadian truck?

Re: Longhorn head count!
It was real nice meeting you as well. My son and I were across the street at the swap meet when my son said hey Dad, I told you not to leave the keys in the truck because someone moved it! I looked over and noticed the bed cover on the truck and I instantly knew it was someone's truck from this forum! Small world eh, and your truck sure is a beauty!

Re: Longhorn head count!
I love those Hugger Orange trucks.
BTW Longhorn Man started this thread 10 years ago. He has a very high post count, but He hasn't been on here in almost four years. Any body know what happened to him?

Re: Longhorn head count!
I keep thinking I would like to put a long, stepside bed on this.
I guess I just like them.

The 9' step beds were factory installed only on C/30 (133"wb) chassis. But seeing as a C/20 Longhorn has the 133"wb frame a step bed (if found) would fit. The 9' beds are very hard to find and do have specific parts like the steps and bed sides as well as bed strips.

Re: Longhorn head count!
Yes, very interesting, the 19.5" solid "single" wheel was last offered in 1968 as a standard option on pickups. No doubt this ex forestry truck was special ordered with the high ground clearance wheels. They are very desirable rims on '60 - '66 8 lug models!

Re: Longhorn head count!
Yes, have one up for sale on the Truck For Sale forum. It's a '71 Cheyenne C-20, big block, TH-400, p.s., tack and gauges, tilt, sliding window, cargo light, new core support, right inner fender other parts new. Very nice project, just needs put back together. Noticed that about 11 people are looking for one? I'm responding to this thread to help sell my truck. If interested contact me here, before it goes on E-bay, with a higher price!! Mike.

Re: Longhorn head count!
Here's mine (drying off after a morning monsoon) at the show in White House, TN over the weekend. Love the truck, but it is seriously stressful pulling 4k RPM to do 65mph on the freeway on your maiden highway voyage. It was backroads on the way home!!!
