I'm getting a lot of great ideas from this thread. It's nice to see some stepsides getting their due.

I like the rounded ends that follow the form of the fenders. Is this pan available commercially or did you make it. The filler panels on the fender bottoms look cool too.

I was talking about the roll pan on 67chevemall's truck. The ends of the pan look like the bottoms of the fenders. It all looks like it goes together. It would also look great with your rounded upper ends.

One observation I've made about roll pans in general: If they hang down too low they look like a little kid running around with a load in his diaper...

I think they shouldn't hang down as low as the lower edges of the fenders. They can start even with the fenders, but angle up toward the rear. Make sense?

Look at any sports car and you will see this aesthetic. You could do the same with yours. I pie cut my rear fenders to achieve this shape (not suggesting that you do, but...). Take a straight side shot of that area and post it for a PS if I'm not making sense.

The angle of the pictures is deceiving. The bottom is even with the fender

I personally don't like the "slits for brake lights" look. The rest of it isn't really terrible, but man, shaved doesn't look as good unless you have curvature and form, so a big flat piece of steel on the back of your truck looks like....well, a big flat piece of steel on the back of your truck w/paint applied.

The pictures aren't as clear as the actual 3D view is... it is most certainly not a "flat piece of steel" (hell, it's shaped like the door... since it's a pair of door panels).

The magenta is the curve above the lower body line (green line).

The purple is exaggerated a bit, but represents both the forward curve and the side curve, and it mimics the yellow lines on the rear fender.

I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism. I love most of what you've done. Especially carrying the lower bodyline through the tailgate with the door skins and of coarse the rounded bed corners In the end you'll do whatever you want to, but I always like to hear the opinions of my fellow body-sculptors, whether I agree with them or not (usually not).

I was looking at the "gate" more and what doesn't seem to work for me is that it looks too tall. Maybe it's because the gate and pan are now one continuous piece. Obviously you are not going to change the top edge. So, if you make the purple curve more like the yellow curve and roll the bottom of the gate/pan under it would reduce the overall perceived height back there.

I'd love to see some low-direct-rear shots and a straight side shot ...or you can just say shut the eff up and do your thing...

Constructive criticism is good. I didn't mean to sound to the contrary. I'm headed out to a mini-vacation but will try to post more pics next week with better angles.

I'm with Frizzle on this one; I thought the plan was to use cab corners there? Either way, it looks great and will definitely be smoooooth.
