Re: Dino63's 66SWB
I was wondering what you were using to keep to hood locked down. Did you make a mount for the hood hinges or did you use something else. I am working on a 65 chevy right now and I am thinking about running your drop member but want to cover all my basis first. By the way. I love the work.
Thanks, Jason |

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
Jason-
The 66 currently has no hinges... I will be building them in the next few weeks. They will be like the ones on his 63 panel http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=200506 I plan on building multiple sets... to sell. Once I modify the original design a little I can place a price tag on it.

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
I will definitely see if I can't post up an audio file. This is the way I would do my personal exhausts, it is clean and functional. It is pretty loud and throaty. After 20 min. on the freeway it seems real quiet, and everybody seems to whisper to you for about a half-an-hour afterwards

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
Hi everyone,
Tony from Norcal, just wanted to tell everyone I got my Droppedmember today. I'm waiting to get some more money before I order my rack and pinion, steering linkage, and AirRide control arms. I wanted to thank Nathan from Porterbuilt for all his help. I'm waiting to see what this rear setup for these trucks looks like cause i'll probably end up buying one. Nathan I was wondering if, when I order the rack if I get the notches for where it passes through the frame or if that is something i'll have to supply? I cait wait to see my 64 shortbed laid on 22's! |

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
This truck is in the current issue of Classic Trucks. The article follws the Dropmember install. It's a good article. Are they going to cover the rear set up too?

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
Nathan I was wondering if you had sent out my rack notches yet? Also on my parts list that came with my droppedmember it said the heims where going to be drop shipped, any word on those? Have you made any more hood hinge setups for the 60's trucks like the ones on Dino's 63 panel? How much are they? I'm hoping to order the chrome power rack, and possibly those hood hinges around the begining of Feb. I just wanted to thank you again for all your help.

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
I will get the notches shipped out for you the beginning of the week. The heims should have arrived by now... I will check with them on Monday. I will give you a call Monday-Tuesday to follow-up.
On the hood hinges... I was hoping to have had the time to get em done last week. Looks like it will be another week or two until I have a 'free Saturday'.

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
Nathan,
As far as the hood hinges, dont rush on my behalf. You are the only company i've even seen that offers hood hinges fo these trucks. Everyone else suggested I reverse tilt the hood. I thought that was what I was going to do until I heard about Dino's 63. Does your setup use the factory hinges? How much is your setup? I'll try to post some pics of my $500 bucket that is going to have some sick suspension on it. Thanks again. Tony from Norcal. |

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
Raguemoe,
Your truck looks sick! I see Devious Customs did the rear setup right? Are those the stock frame rails from the cab back? Also the dropmember will lower your truck another 2-3 inches, and narrow the track width. Bringing your wheels closer together. Are those nice looking wheel wells gonna allow it to go that much lower and that much further in? One more Question for you. Does that c-notch allow your frame rails to lay on the ground with that 285-35-22 wheel and tire setup? By the way I love those wheels! Again sick truck! Tony from Norcal. |

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
It's actually in the works... there will be the option of using a four-link and straight axle or a C4 Vette rearend, and there are two styles... one for the short bed and one to convert the long bed to a short bed. Pics coming 'soon'.

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
The current set-up uses the cab mount mounting holes to 'locate it' in the frame for installation. I am sure it could just be moved rearward and a few other holes be drilled to make it work with a longbed. I will do a little more checking to see for sure.

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
If that works for the C4 rear, I'll be set! I would like to keep mine a long bed if at all possible.

Re: Dino63's 66SWB
All work done by Devious. Stock frame w/notch & 3-link. Spoke to Nathan and I will change to stock height spindles, so frame will be 1/2" off ground with my tires (currently the front section of the frame is 2" off the ground and the stock cross member is 1/2" off the ground). Track will be narrowed 1" per side, which should be fine. The reason why I like the dropmember is the additional clearance and the upgraded steering. The frame sits 2" off the ground front & back now!!

Thought I would bring this back from the dead... Hood hinges coming soon. Dino also picked up a Big Window cab and will be making the swap shortly.
