Re: Stainless Steel Rear Trailing Arms...?
Maybe two bucks....
STAINLESS ARM PICS, FINALLY! These pictures are beautiful examples of how bad my photography skills are.... The black lines on the arm are there to help show what I mentioned earlier about how and where the arm widens in a gentle curve on each side for 24", and then maintains its width all the way to the rear. The holes may be milled today, and the front bushing is ready to install once the front 3" or so of the arm is tapered down and curved for clearance on the mount. The rear end adjustment will be from the oval inserts discussed earlier. This arm took less material, and only 9 pieces compared to the way-too-many-piece steel one, and is a solid 50% stronger. The curved sides, multi-internal box construction (near honeycombed) and being welded inside and out made this thing stupidly strong. The streaks and smudges are just from the light, I guess. I gave the thing a hasty brushed finish, but the camera didn't seem to care I'll try for some better pics...

Re: Stainless Steel Rear Trailing Arms...?
Those look sweet. Such a shame that the untrained eye won't notice them when they are installed.

Re: Stainless Steel Rear Trailing Arms...?
True, but then again I dont really want people crawling under my truck... falling rust hazard... The reason to build these (to me anyway) is for longevity. I plan on driving my truck for a good 30+ years, and anything that can be feasibly replaced with a stainless part, will be. You could soak these things in salt water for the next 35 years, scrape the marine growth, and they will look like new.

Re: Stainless Steel Rear Trailing Arms...?
Wow, this is great. I have a C-20 that I am working with that has to stay a c-20 as well (Hauling hay bales 2x1600 lbs in the bed). Anyway, my trailing arms are coming apart, the lower plate that is on them is FLAKING away from the I-beam looking section. I guess my only issue is the price. $765 is a little north of the $500 that they were supposed to end up being. Guess I will have to start saving up my coin now. Hope you make these for a while, since it will take me a while to come up with the cash!
