Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
What i look for in my magazines are ideas and tips on how the "pro's" do bodywork, air ride suspension and so on. I usually look through the pages and love when i see a bunch of photos from car shows. There is so much creativity out there and only some make it onto the cover of magazines. I have seen cooler ideas, and nicers cars and trucks in the car show photos. Also ever since i was a little kid i have always dreamed about getting my truck or car on the cover of a magazine. Maybe some kind of contest where people post the pics of trucks on a webpage and then your readers get to pic what truck will be on the cover with an artical about what has been done to it. Just an idea.

Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
why dont you pic one build per month from each forum. just my opinion but i would like to see cheap tricks around your garage like kevins cab doley. ways to lift a bed, cab by yourself, metal work(shaving firewalls, etc) . how to choose the right welder, tool for the low budget. so many things in here that i never thought i would learn or try but by reaing of the regular joe's in here trying and explaining stuff i have got the gut to try things i would never have tried.

Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
i like to see both ends of the spectrum, low-buck and high end. lots of great ideas in high end.
specifically referencing the requests for parts interchange, i'd like to see it taken a step further by covering not only the later model parts suggested, but also unique parts we normally wouldn't look for. i mean, we're all truck people, but most of us are just automotive folks in general. how about the parts from unsuspecting vehicles that would work very nicely, such as: mustang air vents lexus dome lights beamer headlights volvo interior light dimmer delays, etc. saab seats, etc. (i don't actually know if any of those work, but just as examples.) give me parts interchange that goes beyond GM. and if i had a nickel for every post here wanting to know how different manufacturer's seats look and fit etc., i'd be able to afford one of the high dollar builds! consoles, too! and another vote for complete references! i want to know what rear view mirror was used, exactly! and thanks a ton for asking!

Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
For those of you who haven't heard of them, I would highly recommend their mags. Very high quality, good pics and good articles. I just bought the latest issue of Chevy Rumble last night. As far as my two cents, I would agree with most of the others, low buck and good tech articles. I'm personally not interested in fuel injection or reprogramming the computer, but rather cheap fixes. I like the idea of finding an old abandoned chev and doing little projects on it (such as brakes, fuel systems, ect.) to get it back to being street legal. I'd also like to see a rebuild on an old straight axle truck, keep it stock, not ifs and disc brakes swaps. Thanks for asking.

Rokcrln...
I would like to see something on a 100 pt restoration! I know it is a bit off the wall but I can't find info anywhere and see very few doing a stock restoration to these trucks. It would be nice to even have a "round-table" discussion about this topic.

Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
Do a TRUE "junkyard dog" build! Get a free truck off craigslist or a $200 beater, and just bring it back to life and make it safe and driveable. NO VENDOR FREEBIES!

Well I just got home from Barnes & Noble Springfield Il, and the lady said they don't carry Truck Builder Mag. I have never seen this mag in are Walmart's either. I believe it's a by-monthly mag.

Hey jkaylor68gmc...if I were to send you guys a couple nifty parts for one of your mag build ups/weekend mods, would ya use 'em? Maybe something like the stainless trailing arms... just a thought. call it 'reader contribution'...it'd be nice to get feedback from you guys and your readers on stuff like that. Yeah, I guess it does sound like I'm lookin for a freebie.... but it'd be

Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
I would subscibe to any Mag that would have at least 1 67-72 Chevy or GMC Pickup in every issue. That's just me... I just did not renew my Classic Trucks because they seemed to be doing less of these than when I started my subscription.

Re: What do you want to See in Truck Magazines?Give me your ideas!
Get more pics of trucks that are not done. Are they ever done? None of mine are. Its hard to see all the cool mods and custom touches people add under all that shiny paint and chrome. I would like to see in progress features stating whats been done and what the plans are. If the owner finishes the truck do an updated feature on it. I also like to see more of the odd vehicles seen at the shows. I have only read Truck Builder a couple of times but I might check it out.
