Are those DM sbc to LS conversion mounts?

I asked Nate about some a while back (@ least 2-weeks ). I mentioned the need to offer this very item to his original DM customers as they updated their sbc equipped rides w/modern, more efficient power-plants.

Re: Getting Started

SCOTI, You would be correct, I hope. I have the 4L60E to go along with it. I'm going to put them in the truck next week, so hopefully they will go in with ease. I know the cab will need some space. I don't know bout the trans X member though? I'll find out when I get there, If I ever do. I assume it's not bolt in for the LS????

Any other comments are very welcome.....

Thanks

Sorry about the Flash! I'm not as smart as the Camera. Turns out I have to run a 4L65E sunshine bell housing, so the transmission is still out.

Re: Getting Started

Thanks for the compliments. I am buying some tires this week, but wasn't sure if these would be ok. In the rear I'm thinking the Nitto Invo, 295/25ZR22. The tire spec's say only to mount on a 11.57" wide rim. Mine are 12", but don't you think thats ok? Anyone know of any other options? I want them to be low profile of course. Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Getting Started

Are you set on running a 25 series? Your not going to like the ride.

BTW- Turn your flash off. Most digi-cams have the ability to enhance the existing light.

Re: Getting Started

Ok guys, I really need some advice. Here's one other option I've found. This is a Toyo Proxes4. It's 305/25ZR22 99W RD. I honestly haven't been able to find a tire that fit's a 22x12" wheel. Thanks in advance

You think you can get away with mounting a tire recommend for a 11.5" wheel on a 12". Also, is the 25 series that bad? Even though it's a rubberband

That's about a 4% variance from their spec... so you probably won't notice it.

Yes. Get a kidney belt for your Sunday drives, and plan to replace those wheels if you hit a pothole.

Keep in mind the variance in "advertised" dimensions are hard to predict. Put two of the exact same specs side by side and they could be a 1/2 inch difference in width or height.

I have never run a 25 series tire, but I think I know the answer. Like XXL said, they are going to beat you silly. Sure they look cool, you have to decide how much ride you are willing to sacrifice for looks.

Here's a set mounted up. Doesn't look like much potential for sidewall flex here.

Re: Getting Started

I'd be more than happy to run a tire with more side wall if Ii could find one that fit a 22x12 wheel. Anyone know of one?

Re: Getting Started

Anyone else? This 12" wide wheel is causing a little trouble. I was hoping to stay under 30" overall height. Anyone know of some close up pics of 25, or 30 series? Is the side wall 2"? Thanks again.

Re: Getting Started

Looks great! What is it? Why did you choose a 4L80E ? That's a bit of overkill unless your running a BIG motor.

Re: Getting Started

Well, I was looking for a 4L60E, the guy I was dealing with was having trouble getting one. He had several 4L80E's so I took on instead. Guess I'll have to juice up my motor. Tires are Yokohama's. There proud of them too.

Here's a set mounted up. Doesn't look like much potential for sidewall flex here.

Since my truck was used as an example I'll share my experiences. After owning more then 15 trucks on air I've come to realize something. Tire size does affect the ride quality but not near as much as the suspension effects the ride quality. True enough on a 25 series tire you will not obtain any real sidewall flex, however on a 40 series tire sidewall flex is also very minimal. Not saying a 40 series tire wont "cushion" the ride a hair but your ride quality is coming from your suspension. A well built suspension is key to ride quality. Ive ran 25 series up to 45 series tires on bagged trucks and never been beat up silly or bounced around in the seat. The only truck I had a rough ride in was running a 275/45/20 but the bags were over the axle. Take all aspects of the truck into consideration when setting up the suspension. Setting up the ride height with the proper bag per application are key. Also, my wifes '04 Dodge Ram rides like a Lincoln (not a cadillac! lol) and she's running 30 series tires set up on a two link, bags on the bars!
