Josh, here are some pictures of my Chevelle. I will take some pics of the motor and some other things we are doing to the car later. I get a kick out of looking at the picture of the car in my garage because it was so clean then. I took the picture about a year ago. The yellow 67 chevelle in the back ground is sold. Now that I am working on cars there is a lot more stuff in the garage.

I went back and picked out some Willy's build pictures. As we all know the fun is the build and I hope I don't get tired of this car too quick. Although the original willy's grill is cool I decided to go with an oval grill. We used a mesh to creat the grill in the front. We followed up the mesh in the dashboard (see picture--custom dakota digital dash goes in the middle), in some side vents (no pics yet), and if you look at the area above the subwoofers we have mesh there too. The mesh in the dash board will also act as a mounting point for hidden speakers and hidden ac vents. I have a twist machine paddle shift, 32" flat screen tv in the truck, and other stuff which I will reveal as it comes. I am going back up to NC in two weeks to spend a couple of days to make sure things are getting done.

that was a mock up to cut the hole in the hood. the final motor is going to have a lot of bling!! thanks for the support.

I have not had much of a chance to take many pictures this week so last night I decided to snap a few on the progress. With no experience with suicide doors we went through the painful process of trial and error. I ordered a set of hinges from autoloc. This was after searching for hinges and with no experience the universal hinges worried me. When I saw the autoloc hinge first they looked pretty fancy. The backing plate was about 18 inches tall and the hinges were aluminum and 3 inches wide so I thought this would be a good secure start. They did have plenty of adjustment and I knew when polished the aluminum hinge would look killer. Unfortunately, they would not work because the door would hit the the side of the cab when swinging open. The problem was the the radius on the hinge was to small to swing the door out. Our solution was to build a pair of hinges using the same design as the autoloc hinges incorporating the larger radius. It worked. Our main concern and not shown in the pictures is keeping the door jam sturdy because of these hinges hanging on the door jam. We plan on welding in some additional supports in the back to keep the door sturdy when open. I ordered my one piece side window glass from One Piece Products. For anyone out there looking the eliminate the window vent this system is pretty cool because there is not need for a filler in the front part of the door when you delete the vent. The kit was close to $600 and came with all of the hardware and glass. I have yet to install it but while talking to One Piece Products we got on the subject of flush mounting the front windshield. I did consider the option of having a front windshield made about 1/2" bigger than the original glass. At $1600 it would have been a nice improvement but if the window was ever broken OUCH!!!!! We decided to break some new window channel and weld it on. Around the corners we had to cut this channel in 1 inch pieces and pieced the radius together. We then welded all of in and have started shaping. It looks killer and if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful. This is what I love about this forum because there are so many helpful and supportive people!!!

I think the way the windshield looks, it resembles a late model chevy. That's pretty cool. I like the hinges, which are very trick, and someone who actually makes a ONE piece side glass. That will look so good. Keep up the good work.

i recieved some pictures today from Clayton Custom Cars on the Willys. The dash was close to completion today. The oval that is cut into the console is for the A/C controls. The Alpine DVD screen/ player was recessed into the dash. I was surprised today with an addition to the fender well on the console. They added a "swoop" on the side which I think is cool. The other photo is taken the fabrication of the rear latching mechanism for the removalble hardtop. I do not know if I have mentioned it or not but we are covering the top in convertable material so it looks like a soft top.

I will get some pictures up of the flush mount windshield for the c10. There are a lot of hours in that glass but i think it is going to look great.

Also I have plug the LifeLink foundation which supports organ donation. No dudes, not the kind of organ you are thinking about!!! Three years ago I recieved a kidney transplant. YOu know, we all think we are bullet proof and then all of a sudden BAM............life happens. The kidney transplant gave me my life back. I bring this up because I was at a meeting today and found out that there are 90,000 people right this miniute waiting for transplants of some kind. Eight of those people die each day because they did not recieve a transplant. In Florida you can actually put Organ Donor on your drivers license. If you have this oppourtunity become an organ donor and you just might save someones life!

the recessed monitor looks cool, and at 65$ a hour (most custom shops rate) if it took them less then 2.5 hrs, thats almost like a freebe.....if ya know what i mean
