Re: night time photos... lets see them
I'd love to see that youtube video of your truck. I'm 25 now and when I was in high school I drove my grandfather's '68 that was passed down to me. I also have 2 friends who drove old Chevy trucks. One was a '50 and the other was a '87. All of our trucks were blue and we were like brothers so I came up with a name for us, The Blue Brothers. Those other kids at your school are just jealous because they don't have as nice a ride as yours. Here's a pic of me and my friends trucks in high school. Unfortunately someone ran into both mine and my friend's '50. We are planning to rebuild them though.

Re: night time photos... lets see them
I definitely want those Flowmaster 40 series on my '63 now. My grandfather bought that '68 brand new from the local Chevy dealership in the fall of '67 and I still have all the original manuals and everything else that came with it except the window sticker. It pissed me off when that guy hit me because the truck was straight, there was only minor surface rust and a few small dings in it, but more importantly it was my grandfathers who died of cancer before I was born so I never got to meet him. He taught my dad how to drive in that truck, my dad drove that as his first vehicle until he could save up enough to buy his own vehicle, my mom and dad dated in that truck, and I learned how to drive in that truck. I had to get another frame for it from a 67 short fleet and am gonna have to replace the front sheet metal, hopefully I can salvage the hood and grill. It has the original 250 inline 6 with 3 on the tree and I plan on keeping them in it.

Re: night time photos... lets see them
chevyman i would be pissed... hope everything works out when you rebuild it... but my parents bought me the 40 series flowmasters for christmas from autozone... its was like $75.99 for one and i needed two of them...i already had dual pipes running out the back so i just took them off and then i took my old dynomax mufflers off and put these on then i put my pipes back on..and took it to a muffler shop so they could put my new stainless steel tips on because i dont have a welder....the two tips costed me $80 for stainless or you can go cheaper and get chrome but chrome will rust eventually...he charged 20 bucks to put them on so in all for the new mufflers and new tips the grand total was only $250..i only paid 100 parents paid 150

Re: night time photos... lets see them
Yeah, I was super pissed. I'm not a violent person but I wanted to tackle that guy. He was in one of those tuner cars. You should have seen his car, the door panels popped off, the dash came apart from the firewall, one of the seats was knocked off its mounts, a light on one of the fenders popped out and was hanging on by just the wire. This is what his little tuner did to my truck. I was blamed for it too since I was turning left even though I had a witness who said he changed lanes after I was already halfway through the turn and he was speeding, so all repairs are coming out of my pocket. The cop who wrote up the report said he didn't see what happened so there was nothing he could do, I was like, "Isn't that why there's a thing called a witness?" Sorry guys for getting off topic, now let's see some more pics.

Re: night time photos... lets see them
dang that is some damage done to these trucks a.k.a moving wall of bricks.... this might sound bad but if he already hit me and everything and the impact was over and he was still hooked onto me id try to make him spin out and get more damage to his car...sorry if that sounded mean but thats what the pecker head deserves....i was backing out of a stall from school last fall..and nobody was behind me then i go and hear a crunch and tires squeel i backed into a car behind me...the dumb driver had some damage on her car already and seen me back out and then stopped...i was writtin on the report.. improper backing for "not seeing" her i was pissed.. did 0% damage to me and did 1300 bucks damage to her...i was pissed though shows you how much people want to rip you off so long story short just cuz she wanted to get hit in the spot where she had damage she mademe pay the money.....
ok lets get back to night time trucks i love these kinda pics sorry all yall for the side conversation me and chevyman had... nice trucks btw

Seen 10 I'm not!
But I tried. This was taken at night, just wanted to show the reflection after waxing it for the first time. The Tahoe has a pretty good reflection to going on the back.

Re: night time photos... lets see them
The coke sign has a pretty cool story behind it. I'm guessing it was probably painted back in the 50's (?), then some time later another brick building was built right up against that wall. About 8 years ago the building burned and when they demolished it they uncovered the old coke sign that noone even knew was there. Thats why its still in such good shape for being as old as it is. These pics werent taken at night, but they're just ones I've taken next to some of the old painted signs I've seen around town. Primer always looks better in a black and white or sepia tone photograph lol.

For some reason all of seeten's pics are red x's for me, I can see most everyone else's. Is there some setting on my PC that causes this? I'm computer stupid.

Re: night time photos... lets see them
That's an interesting name for a BBQ joint! The Character with the bottlecap on his head was used in advertising in the early 40s.
Here's an evening shot next to the first Coke sign that was ever painted on the outside of a building. |
