That ones out of a 94 chev 3/4 ton pu. They are not just bolt in. You have to do a bit of fabbing, and relocate the pivot on tha brake pedal.

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

Thanks, I'll be at the 'nickled and dimed' at u-pull-it this week end looking around.

I'm also going to find a rear AC unit out of a suburban, I think it might make a great fit behind the dash in my 67, I think...

Been a long time since I've been on. Look at all the "LOCAL" guys. Nice looking Burb on this thread. I'd love to see it in person and have ya shoot some Ideas for mine! Ever drive down to Blaine? Next time your comming down let me know. Or keep an eye out up there in WhiteRock for mine, we get up there quite a bit! Thanks! Oh, here is my burb.

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

are you living on H st before the school? if yes, do you know how many times I've waved, stopped, talked to your daughter as well. always just missed you. I coached the pony league boys for the last couple of years. You probably know the Dhanani's.

I pick up all my "mail" at the post office there. Next time I'm there, I'll knock on your door.

great looking Burb.

Al.

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

yeah after I read it, I thought I wouldn't be pleased considering I have a daughter (albeit 22 now) myself. All I did was knock on the door looking for the owner of the Burb, and then left. My wife was the witness!

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

My daughters can handle them selves, I hope! Ya Thats Me by the school! I'm pretty sure now that I have seen you around. Do you pick up the MAIL by the post office or Mail box plus or whatever, by the US bank? I just talked to OldIRON, he strongly advised I get in touch with you Al. I'm on nights now so hopefully we will catch up!

IT is my duty to inform you that you are not posting near enough build pics here, I mean who do you think you are to deny us our daily dosage of truck porn?

Nice burb man, pretty original too.

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

I've tossed around the idea of putting a 500 in my 71 GMC C20 for quite a while. I tow with it quite a bit and that would give me the power and torque I need. I also need more beef in the transmission department than the turbo 350 provides and I have a stack of short shaft BOP/Cad 400 short shaft cores out here.

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

there is no reason not to do it. even with the 4.10 gears you have, it'll still get better MPG than a small block. Get a dana with a 4.56 gear, and you'll be golden

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style

well, since they didn't make one ton burbs, I don't see why an HO72 would be under a burb... all it really is is bigger brakes on an HE52, which is the 3/4 ton axle. You still have the same gear limitations... 4.10 being the tallest you'll find.

Yeah, mine has 4.56'es, that is why I am switching out to a 14 bolt.

Re: Overhaulin' - Seattle style updated May 8, 2009

wow it's been awhile since I posted last. where to start, the Burb went on hold because the #5 vavle didn't open properly, bent a rod almost 3/8". I sent the motor back for warranty work in November, and couldn't get back in until February because of the snow we had. (poor access to my buddies garage.) I took the stock manifold off and put an Eddle high rise on. I'll have to buy a adaptor plate and a Sanden AC. Bob (pumpkin) installed for me a hydroboost system I took out of a '93 Burb., including the power steering pump. And since my steering box was leaking I put a new updated one in. No more feather light steering, much better now. I have installed all 3 rows of seats in, I cut out the floor pan of an '07 escalade framed it and bolted it to the original seat bolts. and the carpet 2/3rds done. Now I'm putting a gadzillion dollars worth of Dynamat in everywhere, - wow, every strip I put in makes a difference. working on the headliner right now, using plastic sheats and foamed backed perforated vinyl/leather material. on the to do list quickly is the 40 gal gas tank transplant, new gauges (built by Livrat) tilt steering (thx again Mark)............the list goes on, to bad the money doesn't. anyways thx again Bob on the great job with the Hydro boost instal in a day.

How long is your trailer and does it need to sit flat? My driveway is like the one in your av. Short and steep.

I thought of that, that weekend is our Canadian May long weekend so we would stay til monday. Staying at the fairgrounds with a lot of parts haulers would probably not sit well with her.
