I don't know of P.F.C. Brown, or his family. But I live about a mile off of Lone Tree Way in Antioch. Would anybody have any kind of clue on how to research something like this?

Re: What's the strangest thing...
There are several groups of survivors, supporters, etc... around the country. a quick Google search can provide lots of info. I looked yesterday and saw that at least 2 POWs named William Brown that died in prison camp.
It is a very interesting and tragic story. |

Maybe he did it that way because he didn't have a good way to get under the truck and do it from underneath?

Re: What's the strangest thing...
On a 69 I bought two years ago, once it was up and running I spent a couple of days chasing an intermittent, hollow sounding rattle. Finally determined it was coming from the gas tank behind the seat. After draining and pulling the tank, inside was the remains of a locking gas cap. From the looks of it, must have been banging around in there for a awful long time.

Re: What's the strangest thing...
When I bought my Panel, I was chasing down a rattle coming from the back and I found a regulator from a 'B' tank. A 'B' tank (you plumbers will know) is a small acetylene torch tank, commonly used by plumbers for soldering copper pipes. I thought it was cool, because my old Dad was a plumber.
I recently bought a '68 long fleet that had a number of treasures under the seat. A couple of gasket sets for a 235: ![]() ![]() A new carter fuel pump, that looks like it was installed then removed and replaced in the box: ![]() All wrapped up like some old Mummy, a complete set of extra fan belts: ![]() And a piece: ![]() OK, it's just a BB gun, but still. As for all the bullet holes, used to be that a .22 shell was just the right size for an emergency spare fuse. Of course, if the short that blew the fuse was bad enough, the .22 would heat up enough to cook off! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: What's the strangest thing...
Found this under the little foam strip that goes under the fuel tank. Could have came from anywhere but from where it was found I picture it coming from some final assembly plant tool.
