I have a 57 that was orignally a Hydramatic. I'll have a look at the frame tomorrow and take a measurement and/or pic if you like....

Bobinbc, that would be a great help! If it has the skinny one piece cross member like all the manual trucks I have seen that would be one less part I would have to search for. Of course it still would leave the question "Why does my 56' and my parents 57' have a different trans cross member.
