Re: High School Project (first build)
well i currently dont have a camera but this week i took out the front xmember and broke it down. i leave to go out of the country wednesday for 12 days then when i get back aug. 2 i leave the 4th for a beach trip so i wont be able to get pics up til after that and on a sadder note i wont be able to work on it for about 3 weeks when i do get back i am goin to begin sectioning the xmember (idk how much yet) and ill step the control arms. also i have begun building a new crossmember fo the rear frame rail for when i notch it.
Take it easy, Jonathan

Re: High School Project (first build)
Well lately things have been really crazy. Not only have i been really busy but we found out a little over a month ago that my uncle has cancer in his colon so thats why i havent beem able to get on. Lately i got a new truck, 2002 Silverado Reg cab shortbed with a 5.3 V8. the first thing i did was murder it. the plan is to make it a fast truck thats fun to drive but still a DD.
Then i built a new rear bumper for my 4Runner which still isnt done. then i got a new toy. then finally a picture of the front xmember out... so now it is more less rear suspension, frame. and a cab... oh and also ive been helping my buddy A.J. body drop his s10... so ive been a little busy but im startin workin on the c10 again. today i started drilling out rivets to remove the main rear xmember to do bag mounts and a notch. Take it easy, Jonathan

Re: High School Project (first build)
Man, three trucks and a Miller welder in High school...what type of work do you do to have that kind of coin? I did have a Mustang in high school but it was a V6 auto....and I could barely afford that...

Re: High School Project (first build)
One thing I would recommend is to strengthen up those 3" drop blocks. They look a little weak as they are right now.

Re: High School Project (first build)
well im kinda pissed. the places to get metal around here were all closed today so i didnt get to start my rear xmember or work on the body drop and my buddy was busy all day so i didnt get the motor either. on a better note i started shaving the firewall with some extra pieces of scrap i had layin around but then i was half way done weldin in a panel and i ran outta weldin wire so i went to lowes to pick some up and when i got back it was too late to keep work so i reckon ill work on it more tomorrow and then get all my other stuff monday or tuesday. ill post pics tomorrow of the keg, goodies ive got, and what ive got done on the firewall so far.
Take it easy, Jonathan

Re: High School Project (first build)
well i didnt get as much done this weekend as i wanted but i figured id put up a few pics before i headed off to work for the day:
New gas tank... keg: free carb, cheep 5 gal 4 port tank and firestone compressor: started shaving the firewall. still have lots of work to do on it but atleast its started: finished the door panel out of plates. the opening is to reach in and pull the rod to open my door: so today i discovered i dont have enough money to go buy steel so the body drop and rear xmember have been delayed. i should be gettin the motor and trans this week so i can make motor mounts, trans crossmember, and trans tunnel. Take it easy, Jonathan
