Updates finally. I have been pretty, make that very busy with work and with some free time have been able to make some good progress. I've had lots of help from a few folks. Expect to have this done in the next week or so, minus the upholstery.

Here is what I've done since the last update:

-Installed and charged the AC
-Finished the wiring harness
-Installed fuel filler neck. I used a 1 1/2" exhaust pipe for the filler and a 1/2" metal conduit for the vent tube. The first set up had the vent below the fill and I had a reminder to switch it around. Still need to work a mount for it, will probably end up making a bracket that will screw to the bottom of the bed wood or one of the angle strip bolts.
-Installed hood--A PITA to get aligned and I'm still not happy with how it fits.
-Installed grill

I'm sure I've left of a few things but, you should get the idea.

Your truck looks real familar. lol, That's the way I built mine to start with (4x4, 4 speed, big tires and all) I didn't like the way mine drove, the wind blew it around bad. Didn't corner very well also. I didn't drive it much because of this, that's why I started over and made the new frame. I liked the look of my (and your) truck with the 4x4 and big tires, it just wasn't much fun to drive on a daily basis. I wouldn't even drive it on a dirt road, didn't won't to chip the paint with the big tires and all. So the only time I put it in 4 wheel drive was to get it on the trailer to take it to the muffler shop. All the guys wanted to take it mudin, that wasn't going to happen forsure. I really like your truck, I just hope you didn't make it to nice to use the way it was built for.

I'm almost finished. With the help of the wife (who did all of the staining and varnishing), the bed wood is now finished and installed. Also, was able to get the last of the buffing done, and the emblems installed.

I think the cables were around $75 or so. It was one of the first things I purchased.

$75 sounds like a great price for the cables. I paid almost that much for one cable that I had made for my last truck. Thanks for the info.

Your truck is beautiful, I hope mine looks that good when I get it done. Like Blackdiesel said, the problem with making a 4X4 that nice is that you don't want to take it off of the pavement.

Your wife sounds like a keeper, she did a beautiful job on the bed wood.

It is out of my hands for the moment, getting some new skin on the inside...Can't wait to see the final product.

I had to look around for three different places to get what I want. I finally chose Bright Built Hot Rods in Salina.

One of the biggest things I was looking for was a solid head liner that would cover the rear pillars and go all the way to the top of the windshield. These guys used the outside of another cab to make a fiberglass shell that will go on the inside of my cab.

Those are the same door panels I have. They came from Rod Doors who is out of bussines. Looks good man

I was lucky to find the door panels. There is a place in St. Louis that still has a pretty good stock of Rod Doors stuff. Have an extra headliner that I didn't end up using.

Not sure if I will be able to make it to the Nationals. I may be in Iraq...
