Re: Poor mans drop
Ok if you lower with chevelle springs and put 2" blocks in to get aprox a 4" drop how about the rearend track locate bar? Can you retain the stock one or need a adjustable one?

Re: Poor mans drop
you could always temporarily bend the stock one to center your wheels until you can buy an ajustable one, or build a longer one and relocate the diff mounting point like im doing.

Re: Poor mans drop
how much will it need to be shortened??? i'm bagged now with a notch and was thinking it would be a good time to do that before I put the bed back on.......I guess I could measure it if I wasn't so busy doing other stuff....

Re: Poor mans drop
that depends on how low you go. if its lowered anything over 5"s it will end up being to short. when mine was lowered 5"s in the rear, i only bent it as much as needed. now that im lowered 9"s it was to short even when it was not bent, so i got one off a 66 c-20 coilspring truck and bent it to where i needed it, until i can finish my extended one.

Re: Poor mans drop
well I'm lucky enough to live in a big race car area and they have them hanging on the walls everywhere...( the dirt guys bend them up pretty regularly)...I got my c notchs cut/welded today and bed on so a quick measurement and a 2 sec drive and I'm at the store to pick one up...... seems to need to be about an inch shorter but maybe tomorrow my cab and bed mounts will be in so I can get a better idea once things are put where they are going to live.......
