It's starting to all come together now. It looks great bud. What are you plans for the kick panel area, carpet as well?

Yeah, I talked to my guy that I got the carpet from and he said that the same company makes kick panels and door bottom panels that match exactly.

I love it! Excellent choice with the colors! Where did you buy the brake lines from? That is a good FYI about the '71/'72 difference in length. I didn't know that.

Re: Gene's shorty 4x4 conversion
Slowly but surely, getting my truck back from paint. Gotta get a buddy to help me put my doors on, i'm scared i'll scratch them up. Gonna have my paint guy install the roof drip moulding I scored at my local salvage yard.

Found out the hard way that I should have installed the doors before putting the front clip on

Re: Gene's shorty 4x4 conversion
Well, I have ran into the usual problems after installing new door weatherstripping, I have to slam them to get them to shut. They shut just fine before I changed the door rubber? Is there any way you guys know of to wear them faster?

Re: Gene's shorty 4x4 conversion
Your shifter retainer ring looks new. Where did you get it at? I've been looking a little bit today with not much luck. I can find the boot, and I got my chrome shifter ordered, but no ring yet.
Thanks. Sweet rig btw!!!

I ordered it from member mekdad, I think it was 35.00? Machined aluminum to match the radio plate he made for me. Give him a shout.

Re: Gene's shorty 4x4 conversion
I picked it up from my local(well 60 miles away) guy. Here's his website www.kennystrucks.com It fit pretty well, I did use some spray adhesive to help with the wrinkles. I bought all my interior from his place, door panels, carpet, arm rests, dash pad seat cover, etc..

Re: Gene's shorty 4x4 conversion
Went and picked up my bed today and installed it at the body shop. Man the pics dont do this torch red justice, I am so very happy I went with my Paint Guy. Other than the little mistake of the cab and door lines not matching up I think he did an awesome job. I'm thinking that the trim will hide it though.
