Re: My 69 lonbed
thanks guys it was a pain to do it myself but i saved 300+ to blast my cab it would've been over 400. instead i bought a harbor freight 40lb cap pressure blaster for 100 bucks and 4 bags of sand for 25. well worth it if you have the patience! hopefully i'll have it in primer tommorw afternoon. gotta finish prep today

Re: My 69 lonbed
so here is the worst of it before sand blast and primer
fortunately for us californians, our junk yards aren't full of rusty old cars. no salt on the roads here. This is my score of the day. the only C10 in the scrap yard! more updates to follow it was sad to see all the dying cars. rest in piece real metal

Re: My 69 lonbed
Wow, how awesome would that be to score a patch like that out of a junkyard. It really makes me want to move out west, build a truck, then move back east...lol...
Between having excellent starting points with minimal rust, and being closer to the parts suppliers...it's like a dream....but I know...grass is always greener......

Re: My 69 lonbed
here is the worst of it notice the missing metal weather strip
panel removed yeah there is some rust on the replacement but not nearly as much. this can still be controled with rocker patch resting on rocker but you get the idea

Re: My 69 lonbed
Nice work on the center of the dash and the rocker. I am planning to smooth the center of my dash as well to make it transition to the center console I will be building.
