Re: new wheel tire choice?

IMHO I think these two would look pretty sharp and be on the same playing feild as the rest of the truck custom wise.

BTW is your truck street legal with no mirrors?

Enlighten the ignorant.
Define low-pro mag-wheels, please. I really have never known what a "mag" wheel is. And low profile???? I'm normally not a huge fan of chrome, but that is probably what would work best with your current setup. I'll start diggin' around a little and see if I can find any chrome suggestions. The semi gloss grey engine compartment with some chrome sounds like a good idea.

I tried my best to make rallies work.

Oh, and 3r!c84.
Thanks for the compliment. I've had a couple of requests lately. Photoshop is fun. Send me, or link me some big pics and some vague idea of what you would want it to look like. And when I get to it...I'm getting faster though for sure.

BTW--Ehman, what color is your interior? Black?

you definately did very good trying to make the rallys work (i kinda wanted them to work... ) ..but, the truck is just not styled right... now your truck, thats a different story you are one skilled photochopper! im still definately thinking the two-tone... i've always liked the grey-centered wheels. and by "mag-wheels" i mean anything thats not a steel/factory/cheap, just a custom rim/wheel. and im definately going low profile, and wide. these steppers NEED wide rear tires to fill 'em wheel wells. the 8.5" that were on it looked dinky... im thinking 12" minimum.

interior... is orange and black... the halloween pumpkin. i used to like it, now it's among lots of things im wanting to change.. lol a project is never complete. plans for the interior include an all custom dash/door panels (my design with styling cues from the new chevy half-tons) with custom bucket seats (racing style, WITHOUT nasty headrests blocking rear window) custom center console... all of it black leather with orange stitching (or grey with the two-tone), on-board touch-screen in dash computer to control everything from gps/stereo to air-bags, engine/trans cpu. also, fully digital guages (lcd monitor with glowing style anolog guages) i have a couple designs drawn up, but no scanner yet to show ya

i totally agree.. those are both coy wheels arent they? they would look super good.

as far as the mirrors go, because its a vintage vehicle (older than 25 years), in SK, Canada, the insurance regulations state that: A modified vintage vehicle shall have at least one mirror that provides the driver with a clear view to the rear. so, to answer your question, yes, where the truck is plated, it is legal!

Yup both coys I like the first ALOT I have never seen another squarebody chevy with them and they are the mag type you were looking for.Mabey another photochop with these? I think these would look best for the vintage of your truck.

I think some of the wheels posted are way to busy. You don't want the wheels to be the center of attention and take away from the rest of your BEAUTYFUL truck which you have poured so much time and money into.

The second wheels are jus cookie cutter coys that everybody else has (nothing wrong they are a sharp wheel) But with the gunmetal spokes and chrome outers ,they will set you apart from the crowd alittle bit.

Re: new wheel tire choice?

chlsnk, i totally agree there about the c-5's, as well as the c-57's, i have never seen 'em on a squarebody? and am very interested how they would look! the only problem with them is the size availability... not as "customizable" as the c-5's

Re: new wheel tire choice?

Ok guys, I wasn't trying to turn this in to an "agree or disagree with Ken session" but I think y'all see what I am saying.

Joseph- Personally I like the stripe concept, including the front roll pan stripe. Much more creative than putting it in the hood.

Steemin- Since you posted the Burb/Tahoe interior pic, I'll throw another twist to my mad scheme. Do your interior in a tan or light adobe color like the late model shows. Do your dash pad and a few accent pieces in the same matte gray as the exterior stripes.

Add a set of BonSpeed color matched Huntington wheels and go rock the Summer show circuit.

thats a really good idea about the tan interior... but with tan, id almost want a cream stripe... but with cream, out goes grey wheels. then i my need all chrome wheels, or the same cream colored.

and those are some sexy wheels... those are the bonspeed hunningtons right? very sexy wheel...

Re: new wheel tire choice?

Funny you should mention that wheel.
I just saved this one to do a chop with later.

Not the Huntington, but darn close. It's a Boze Stinger. I thought it was the same wheel at first.

Heres the quick chops for tonight.

Here is an attempt with a polished wheel. Couldn't find a good picture of a polished one. It's no secret--I like mesh. This is a Boze Mesh wheel.

This is a Bonspeed Big Block.

Re: new wheel tire choice?

Steemin--the dreamsicle one looks great. But, it's just that it would be a shame to not color match the wheels with the accent color--and I just don't know about cream wheels.

agreed. i love the grey wheels with the grey two-tone. wow. i love it. i think i might just do the two tone, its just a matter of wheel selection... the bonspeed big blocks actually look pretty good! they match real good!!!

Re: new wheel tire choice?

FYI- Those arent AR "Salt Flats" posted. Salt Flats are only available in 17's.

Those are Centerline "BOULEVARD" from the Sundance Series. I do think they would look good right out of the box. IMO they would look terrible color matched.

Re: new wheel tire choice?

i love the centerlines (the salt flat look-a-likes) did some research on them... the widest i can go is 9.5", either that or 15". no good.
But, you can get any backspace you want which i do really like

im lookin for 20x8.5 for the front, and 20x12 for the rear. (20's or 22's...) im sure i can fit a 12" wide rim without tubbing the box, which i would like to avoid. i dont like the look of tubbed stepsides. so, unfortunately, this really limits my options to a few brands, without getting completely one-offs cut out.
