Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: I figure it's about that time..

Getting there, my intake is complete minus a bracket to keep it in place. All my coolant lines are run, just need to cut two pieces of 1.5" .095 wall to connect the rubber hoses. Have 4 hot leads I need to fuse from the computer, mount my fuel cell, and run battery cable, then I should be ready to fire it up. I don't have my VATS removed yet so it's only going to fire up for a second, but at least I'll know I did something right haha. I'm going to get a live tune so I'll just have the VATS removed then. I got wheel tubs on the way, so I'll hopefully have my bed mocked up and be able to finish the last half of the frame in the next couple of weeks. School has been sucking up some of my time lately but I should be able to keep a steady pace on things. Still waiting on better weather to be finishing primer. There have been days where the 50 foot visibility of fog NEVER lifts. Very depressing. On a better note, I got to go up the hill today and help 4 link a D60 into a toyota. That was fun. Here's a pic of Adam welding it up, followed by one of my truck and another of a lot of 60's pickup parts I found in my friend's barn, including an entire factory A/C setup, a couple tach dashes, complete harnesses, and all kinds of other good stuff.

Re: I figure it's about that time..

It's ALIVE! I fired it up the other night after taking care of a couple fuel leaks. It fired up INSTANTLY. I still have the stock computer, so I just shut it right off. But at least my wiring is good! A tuned computer is on it's way, next is driveshaft and brake lines, then off to the exhaust shop and put the doors together and get em hung. It's gettin there! I'll post more pics soon.

Re: I figure it's about that time..

Looking good

OK, I'll be the first to ask......whatchya got going there on top of the intake? I know you have coolant going thru that tank, but what are the 2 smaller hoses?

Re: I figure it's about that time..

It's a heat exchanger for the transmission. It's got a cooling element inside that is super efficient.

Thanks for the power steering plate by the way. That shipped out really fast! Nice quality part and good instructions too. My buddy was very pleased!

Re: I figure it's about that time..

Thanks for all the compliments guys! I need the motivation, it's coming down to the wire now and I really want this bad boy done so I can actually enjoy my project this summer! My goal is to hop in and drive it under it's own power in 2 weeks, even if its just a burnout in the shop

Re: I figure it's about that time..

Pics to come soon. Seats are done, they turned out awesome. Carpet and insulator are in, stereo is mostly wired, just need to build a little box for the sub. Glass gets installed in the afternoon. All that's left is to mount the two front speakers and assemble the doors and the interior will be complete! Those doors are going to be a lot of fun to reassemble I can already see that haha. If all goes well I should be sending the driveshaft out to be shortened a week from today, and trailering it to the exhaust shop.

Re: I figure it's about that time..

Ok a lot has happened in the last few weeks. I got to drive it! It's almost ready for paint, I need to get some pictures up here. Anyone have any tips on how to get my windows to roll up easier? I'm probably going to need a new regulator for one of them, but both windows are almost two arms worth of strength to roll up

It sure seems to be about time, skoff.
We sure could use a bunch of pic's.

Maybe not of your rear end......but..... after you been here awhile, You can send us those, too.

Dry silicone spray'll help.
All the above is the best way to take care of it though.

Re: I figure it's about that time..

I did replace all the of the felts, I'll bet these have to be worn in for a bit huh? I'll try some of that silicone spray RockDriller, couldn't hurt right? And I PROMISE I'll post pics up by Sunday. You want me to PM those "rear end" pics? It goes to the exhaust shop tomorrow and he might be swamped and need to keep it til Saturday.
