Well sent the truck out to the Welders today and got the Ladder bars finish welded. They had it done in about an hour and a half.

Re: 572 update

Sorry for the delay in posting but I've been busy and a little under the weather lately, But I figured I could throw up a few more pics. I had a chance to install the accessories, put in new engine mounts, install the new master/booster, Starter, etc. I installed a Vaccuum pump for the master but don't have a pic, and I also install an electric fuel pump but don't have a pic either.

But here are some pics I do have.

Re: 572 update

that is a beautiful truck with no outward cosmetic changes......total sleeper. it says on the options list that it has the custom camper equipment. what pieces did your truck come with (i see small mirrors). if i went to the trouble of putting a huge motor like that in a truck, it would be for SERIOUS towing duty as i would rarely have the chance to use all that power in any other venue. thankfully you have a 3.54 gear and overdrive...i don't want to imagine the amount of high octane gas you will be burning through in that truck. i am putting an 87 octane friendly 406sbc in my 72 burb. do you have the factory tach and vac gauges to go in or are you going with an aftermarket cluster?

Well actually we are switching the gearing to 3.73 with a detroit locker, and we are keeping the factory guages, using a Cable X system to maintain the stock speedo with the Hydramatic (4L85E)

The Driveshaft was just ordered on Friday, going with a single 4" Aluminum driveshaft, I will need to modify the hanger crosser to clear the new shaft, not by much, but slightly modified.

I'll try to get more pics up as things go.

I have a huge order comming from LMC and Summit, I'm still anxiously awaiting my Tranny controller from GM, no ETA on that part yet.

I'll keep you all posted.

The electric fan is actually from LMC, it has a thermostat that can be manually set and has the typical heat probe (torpedo) that goes into the hot side of the rad.

I'm hoping that the one 15" fan offset to the hot side of the rad will be enough to cool this monster.

Booster/Master combo was from LMC and I believe it was like $299.99

Re: 572 update

Well as you can see I have gotten into the "scarey" part of this project I say "scarey" as most people find electrical a nightmare. I however am well versed and have no issue with this, However, I was wondering if anyone has a wiring schematic for a 72 C20 as over the last 38 years there have been a few hack jobs etc. I want to streamline the wiring down to the necessities. I have a lot more wiries to bring in thanks to the tranny controller etc.

So if anyone has a shematic for a 72 C20 I would be greatful to have a copy.

Thanks in advance.

Let me know when you save those to your hard drive or if they're not what you need so I can remove them from the post.
