Re: Project Ru5tyNut5

I think it might be the guy I got my driveline from, is it a stepside? if so then he offered me the frame, bed, doors, and hood for $400 but I can get a whole truck minus motor and trans for that I think, so don't think I want to pay that for it.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5

I appreciate you throwing it out there, always good info to have. A guy stopped me today to tell me if I needed any parts he could hook me up cheap, he gave me his number.

I have spindles but my gas tank barely off the ground when it's all the way down now, I'd rather not have my tank dragging. I need some sort of fuel cell in a much higher location then I can probably put my spindles in. also a little concern about the full length headers that hang down below the frame.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5

fuel cell or a frame mounted tank. you can probably make anything work since you have the bed all open.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5

yea, I've never done anything with a tank other than on motocross bikes so not sure what the hell to do yet. can't wait to figure it out so I can figure out how to put the spindles on, just need more time staring at it I guess.

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5

this whole "bagging it" thing was like a year in the making and had the truck undriveable for like a month so I'm just stoked to be able to drive it as it is right now. I'll figure the tank thing out soon enough,

Re: Project Ru5tyNut5

i know what you mean. my truck started out as a 3/4 long bed. we had to cut the leaf springs out and change it out to trailing arm. at the same time added bags and power steering and disk brakes. it sat for over a year. then after i got it on the road blew the tranny and it sat for almost six months and decided to cut it down to a short bed and change the tranny at the same time. im just glad i might be able to drive it for the summer.
