Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
I just saw one of these blazers in person for the first time last week (but it was a 75 K10).
I am quickly becoming obsessed with these... Don't get me wrong, I love my 78 half ton truck, but there is something cool about these things. Great looking square body you got. |

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
Thanks guys! The headers are Hedman Elite's. I haven't gone down the road in it yet. I still have a few things to do before her maiden voyage. Windshield is tops on that list!

The truck is looking great. I wouldn't expect much weight from the bumper, hood, and windshield but it's nothing cutting a 1/4 coil won't cure. The engine sounds stout and revved sinfully quick for the first fire-up. I am a little disappointed. I went back through your pictures and saw that freshly painted hood setting on concrete... |

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
Thanks for the compliments, but your eyes deceive you. It's not sitting on concrete, there are two tires under it keeping it off the ground. It should be back on there tomorrow evening.

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
I submitted that before I gave a thought to how homo that might sound, so I'll add a short explanation. I told MC4x4 I couldn't wait to ride in the truck, it was looking good/sounding good, and I didn't care if he had to steer with a 2x4 and work the throttle with a string.
So git yer heads out of the gutter. |

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
Made a lot of progress this past weekend. Pretty much finished up the engine compartment minus a little neatening. Got the A/C charged up and blowing cold. Got the correct TV cable installed and adjusted. Tied up a lot of little lose ends. Got both of the bumpers back on.
It's at the exhaust shop now getting new pipes and an alignment. Gonna work on doors (mirrors) and tailgate this week. I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel! Now for what you are really here to see. Last edited by Mr.Chevy4x4; 07-19-2010 at 09:20 PM. |

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
Looking good, sir. What mufflers are you going to run and what diameter pipe?

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
The exhaust will be 2.5 inch. The mufflers are flowmasters that came off of my race car. For some reason I was thinking they were also 2.5 inch. When I went to pull them out of storage I realized they were 3 inch. So it's 2.5 inch pipe to 3 inch muffler back to 2.5 inch pipe. I went by and saw it on the way home this afternoon. He was almost done with the exhaust. He has it tucked up real tight and all you can see is a small turn down coming out behind the rear tires. All he lacked was some welding and putting the "h" pipe in.
I can't wait to drive it home tomorrow evening! |

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
Thanks Mike, I just hope that one day it can grow up and be as cool as your truck! I saw it over at Joe's one day, and that thing is amazing!
I hope to do a LS swap eventually. Last edited by Mr.Chevy4x4; 07-20-2010 at 10:19 PM. |

Re: Project Tweaked - 2wd Blazer build
I'll come by tomorrow evening if that's good, I'll call first. I've got the one good Silverado wheel for you and one 88 to 94 4-spoke that I cleaned up for you as well. The 4-spoke won't cut it for your truck but will make good trade fodder.
I'm bringing my camera and expect you to roast the tires for some pics. |
