Re: unigue to 67'
You guys seem to be forgetting that these '67 trucks are 44 - 43 years old and **** happens. Items are replaced, added, removed for a variety of reasons.
Early year production can have carry-over parts. Late year production can have the next year pieces when the current year parts run out. The truck sitting in your driveway or at a car show does not necessarily represent the way that truck came off the assembly line any more than it represents what items should have been on that truck. ChevLoRay, you said>>FWIW...here's a one-owner '67 that belongs to a guy I work with.<< I noticed that you didn't say. "the guy you work with is the original owner". That really means, he is the second owner. Maybe. A couple of years ago I bought a one-owner Corvair. Actually, the guy I got it from never registered it and said he got it from his neighbor, who was the original owner. That "original-owner" saved every registration and receipt back to '71. That included a temporary registration in someone elses name. Under the carpet overlap, I found airline ticket stubs and gas receipts for another person. The receipts for tires, shocks, tuneups after '71 all had the same low mileage as the speedo reads today. The one-owner, low mileage car is actually a fifth-owner, 200,000 mile special, but the low price I paid reflected the condition and not the story.

Re: unigue to 67'
Ya, I'm not sure exactly how accurate that chart is. I've seen several 68's with small back windows also, even though everyone says 67 was the only year. I agree 100% with RichardJ about the carry over parts, and about parts being discarded or added over the years.

Re: unigue to 67'
Nobody seems to be able to prove that some 68's did not come with small back windows. I've seen a couple, can't say they were original though.

Re: unigue to 67'
Great. Reason I was asking. Having a set of custom set of door panels made for a 67, I don't have in my grubby hands just yet. He's coping them from a 71 GMC he has. But they will be put on the 67. I was getting worried, wondering if I should call him to a halt on that process before he got too far.

Bob B, Actually the 67 and 68 gmc trucks had the small letter gate. 69 went to the big letter.

Re: unigue to 67'
I have 2 67s, a blue & white 1/2 ton & a green 3/4 ton & they were both painted blue & green ,respectively, on the interior. I also thought that the small window was an option in 68. Also, the blue one was my father-in-laws & he had 70-type white painted dog dish hub caps on it. Were they an option as well?

Re: unigue to 67'
I believe 67 didn't have an accessory in the ignition switch and 68 on did and 67's used metal door lock knobs and 68 on used plastic.

Re: unigue to 67'
My 67 has the jack in the cab corner, the rest of the pieces are under the seat right on front of the fuel tank. All the other stuff mentioned I have found out except the ignition switch not having an ACC position (wanna guess what I'm doing at the end of today when I drive the truck). My truck has the silver faced heater controls (not too sure they are original though). To be honest the major pieces of my truck are still 1967 but it started life as a 292 4 speed and was combined with a 1971 in later life to become a 350 / 350TH with disc brakes and 5 lugs (3.08 ratio too so the rear axle was swapped). They even swapped out the steering column to get the shifter. So I have a high hump V8 automatic disc brakes which just confuses the heck out of people.

Re: unigue to 67'
OK I checked last night.......my truck does have an ACC position in the ignition switch. So either the switch was changed out for a later one (yes it has the 67 small ign bezel). I did not check to see if the ACC position worked anything, it is a no radio truck so there isn't really anything to turn on to check it out. Why would the truck not have an ACC position? Car had them long before 1968.....hmmm. I will have to check the owners manual too.

Re: unigue to 67'
My 66 has that exact mirror and is the one I ordered for my 68, I like the vintage look about it. Bolted right in, same hole configuration.

Re: unigue to 67'
yours might have been replaced or only early models got them. mine has no accessory. i would like to find a new one for backup without accessory but all the new ones have it. I tried to hook one up in my 67 that had accessory but mothing worked when the key was positioned there.

Re: unigue to 67'
I checked it, there is no electrical working, so it has a replacement switch. I checked the owners manual, and sure enough...no ACC position.

Re: unigue to 67'
This is a very cool thread! Now my curiosity is really peaked, still have yet to see my truck in person... another 25 days till I get leave (but who's counting?0.
From my pics, I saw that I didn't have a passenger armrest and was wondering about that. Driver's side has the 67 one. Do have two sunvisors though and the roof mounted mirror. SPID does not belong to this truck so that's no help. VIN indicates a 6 cyl. It's now a 350/350. Column is for a 350... would that have been an option for a 6 cylinder? Have the correct 67 inside door handles. The parking brake isn't the hand-pull type.. another PO mod. The front fenders have no marker lamps but the bed does, so guess I have a later bed. It'll be interesting to see what I really have!

Re: unigue to 67'
My '67 Suburban had an armrest on the drivers side only. Because I put one there. It was a loose generic armrest I found on the junkyard deck. Probably off a '56 Packard. Who really knows. I didn't think a passenger side armrest was necessary, since I only ever sat in the drivers seat.
I'm no expert on slushboxes, but I think TH400 or Powerglide were the only options in '67. Three speed Muncie [or was it Saginaw?] 3-on-the-tree or SM420 4-on-the-floor were the standard manuals. L6 250 was the base engine, 292 L6 and 327 V8 were upgrade options.
