Re: Tami's 51 build
Cool, I was looking through your thread again{it's been a while} and getting some ideas
I like the A/C vent idea! and looking at your bear claw linkage gave me an idea that may solve a problem with mine with the turn down handles.{one of thoce the same but different}sort of things. |

Re: Tami's 51 build
time to catch up !
playing with hood alignment and fit... almost done with the bed...took an s-10 roll pan, cut off the flange at top and the sides, then welded it in. didnt want a heavy look to the rear, then fit and trim the original pockets to contour to the new pan, in the next day or two...gonna put a 48" flush mount 200 led light across the pan, just above the plate square. also putting a 6" flush 3rd brake light under rear window. STAY TUNED !! you'll also notice that I reworked the tailgate hinges .we plan on using a net, so you can see the custom, black carbon fiber bed planks that we designed.. |

It's looking more and more like a truck. Nice progress. Keep it up. I agree sanding does suck. Your hood/gaps look great. That is where most AD trucks show there age. Marc

Re: Tami's 51 build
Running boards and front bumper are done too!
Boards were made in a few pieces, because we wanted smooth boards but still have the original curves on the inside and edge, so there was a lot of cutting and welding..front bumper was smoothed and studded, then reworked the bumper brackets so bumper is about 1 inch from grille, then just made a filler panel and welded it to bumper.. Re: Tami's 51 build
So if you had a competent shop follow your instructions, how many hours would they charge you to put the truck in that stage?

Re: Tami's 51 build
Well, dragged home another trans am, need to make some cash...so, while the truck is sun tanning for the next month or two. I'll do the ta.
Decided to start lining up someone to do interior, I WAS going to hire it out,but after last couple days, screw it, I'll do it myself. Can't find anyone around here worth a damn....wasted a couple days talking,, a guy came by to look at truck, told him what I wanted, 2 PC windshield, how I wanted headliner, etc. I knew I was in trouble when he asked how I was gonna keep the wind out of the center if I didn't use the original brace, and once I said I had stretched the roof, he was just blank when I said he couldn't just order a headliner and cover it. Moving on....so, Trying to find places to get what I'll need, We'll, on then not so *****y side....lol I'm going to a car show in killbuck,oh. To , we'll, you know....relax? I did order 3 point seat belts from seatbeltplanet.com. Some of the chapter ones on eBay don't lock ! Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by skip99; 05-18-2013 at 10:51 AM. |
