Well, looks like a new set of headers is in line... Unfortunately the ones I bought from Street & Performance interfer with the clutch linkage on my truck. Oh well, I'll just get rid if those along with the first motor & then work on another set. Looking at a company called Stainless Headers Mfg. - they send you out a pretty cool kit that you mock up on your vehicle & then send back to them so they can fab it all up. May be the best route as no one really makes an "off the shelf" set of headers for this thing...

BTW - I got my history report in from GM Canada the other day & Feb. 23rd is officially my trucks 34th B-Day! It was sold at King Chevrolet in Chico, CA. for a rather large for the time MSRP of $10,226.75 - OUCH!!! This truck has basically been in the same little area of California its entire life - I love it (time for it to leave though)!!!

Still awaiting more pics from the shop - having a delay getting the metal guy in so holding us up a bit. Air compressor stuff arrived, so they can start getting that all mocked up & installed.

There's no name for it as there were 3 of them custom built for the Special Forces guys by a company in Ogden, Utah - so it wasn't an actual production vehicle for the military.

It's going to be hydraulic - just with an external slave cylinder actuating the clutch fork. We looked at going with a full internal system, but it would require custom mounting the master cylinder & fab'ing a linkage system from the pedal. This would work, but the shop has had issues in the past with that kind of set-up causing the master cylinder to leak if the alignment is factory spot-on. If we do it this way we retain all factory parts for a much cleaner install & still get all the benefits of a hydraulic clutch.
Besides, it'll be easier to move that motor with those headers attached & they'd work great with an automatic truck I'm sure.

Ok, here's some new shots of the old filler neck hole filler plates tacked in place for the left & right side - also a shot of the new Blazer fuel door opening being welded in behind the right wheel well. Sure gonna be a lot cleaner looking once it's all final welded, smoothed & painted again!!!

And the best part of my day so far - here's my new wheels & tires finally mated together!!! As you can see I changed my mind on using the BFG's in the rendering & went with some Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ's instead. I think they look KILLER & they have really deep tread lugs & a good wear rating given the type they are.
Using chrome lugs with these wheels & then the front Mile Marker locking hubs are polished stainless as well, so it should look GREAT installed!!!

Yeah, I think the black looks SOOOOOO much better than just the stock polished aluminum!!! You'd think that Mickey Thompson would offer them that way but oh well... BTW - the powdercoat we've used for everything is a 60% semi-gloss in case you're wondering.

Clutch update - well, it looks as if Trevor finally got his hands on a 93 Chevy truck that he's gonna scavenge all the clutch pedal mounts & linkage off of to help get us the set-up we're looking for.

Ok, stock Mickey Thompson supplied beadlock bolts are soon getting ditched for a better looking black button head style which should fit the look a lot better. Also may be able to salvage my Street & Performance headers too since the bell housing Trevor's taking out of that '93 truck should work & all parts look like they'll clear!!!
Filler necks being welded to the new fuel tank & they've also rolled the tunnel that will cover it in the bed. We're starting to talk interior as well, so hopefully that'll get moving at some point... Hopefully will have a few more pics before the weekend to share!

Well, it's official! Ryan's first rendering of my truck (we re-did it a bit since then) made the newest issue of Truckin' magazine in the "Radical Renderings" section!!!! If you get your hands on one take a peek at it!!!
The headache rack was deleted in the second rendering, but think we are going back with it - it'll just be custom built by Kevin rather than buying an "off-the-shelf" item. Also the wheels on this rendering are different - they were the first set I considered using.

Here's a shot of the finished cab side "4x4" badges that will replace the stock "3+3" versions from GM. And the other pic is the still in progress fender badge - it's not painted or polished yet & he still has a few small areas to cut out.
These things are gonna look SOOOOOOOOOO much better than the stockers! Steve @ Billet Badges may not be the fastest in the world, but man is he the best!!!

Slow week in the shop so far but Beau promised me pics tomorrow!!! Rear axle should be out then & headed for powder coat finally... They got all the e-brake cables & rear brake lines run too.
