strodders right, man your flying. i really like the silverado looks good. i like the mustangs too, as a matter of fact the fastest i have ever been was in a mustang coupe car, 6.51 1/8 mile track but come to think about it we did have a small block 400 chevy motor in it though

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
We had a nice 75 degree day here today so I took half a vacation day and came home. I got both my rocker panels welded in. I still have a few spots to weld and then grind down all the welds. I guess when I get that done I can pull the doors back off and flip the cab so I can weld the bottom of the rockers to the inner ones. Then I will be able to wire brush the bottom of the cab and get to the POR15. I still want to finish the body work on the roof while the cab is on its back. heres a few pics...

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I didnt go to the goodguys show today because of weather. I really wanted to work on my truck anyways. I stripped the inside of the cab today. steering coloumn, firewall pad, instrument cluster, glove box door, ashtray, and all the heater components. Does anyone know where the 3 vacumn hoses coming from the windsheild washer squirters go to under the dash??? I dont see anywhere they would go under the dash. All I see under the dash is the windsheild wiper motor and it has no place to hook hoses to it. Im stumped on this, they were just hanging under the dash, must be something missing. anyway heres some pics and looks like its time to remove the doors and flip the cab again to weld bottom of rockers and POR15 the bottom of the floor.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
lol about the drugs!! I think im going to go with a light or medium gray inside. I dont really like that gold or fawn color. I want to get that 2 tone seat cover from LMC truck thats gray and white to recover the origional seat. Then I may paint the steering coloumn and wheel white. I was doing some research and found out that im missing my windsheild washer pump that mounts under the dash. It seems to be around 30 bucks so thats good. So flip have you done anything to yours lately?

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
i havent got a single thing done to mine in a least a month, bow season opened the end of september and every chance i get i have been in the woods. i like your color choices sounds like it will look great, i really like the seat cover from lmc you were talking about i was thinking of the same thing except red/white combo. are you still going to super chevy show? if you do be sure and take lots of pics and post them. next year we need to get together and go to the swap meet.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I took my doors back off and flipped the cab on its back again. I got 1 side of the rockers welded to the inner rocker. I got tired of welding and wanted to do something differant so I started the body work on the roof, so much easier when its right there in your face. I want to finish the body work on the roof before I put the cab back on the frame. The filler in the pic on the roof looks terrible but its only a skim coat roughy less than paper thin.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I was off work today so I finished all the welding on the floor and rocker panels. I had a little time left so I pushed the cab out and sandblasted the bottom of it. I ran out of sand and time but I think I got it good enough for the POR-15 to stick ok. Anyone messed with this POR-15 before. Anyone have some tips and or tricks to use with this POR15 please????? I hope to paint the bottom floor tomorrow, temp suppose to be 70 degrees and no rain. I also got my 4 inch rear drop springs.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Well Im not happy with this por-15 thing. I have gone this deep in this truck and im not sure about coving up this rust and undercoating left on it so I went today and got some more sand and im going to blast the bottom of the cab perfect in the morning and epoxy DP-90 the bottom of the cab. I think with clean bare metal with the epoxy and a top coat I will have a solid floor to last a long time. maybe pics tomorrow....

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I got the bottom of my cab completly sandblasted today. The sandblaster ran out of sand so I snapped a pic while reloading. I sprayed the bottom with 2 coats of DP-90. Im a whole lot happier now knowing almost all that undercoating and rust is gone and not covered up.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I reuse as much sand as possible. I vacuum it up with a shop vac, and then use a sifter to filter the debris out. Can't do it if your sand blasting on the ground though.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I guess im lucky because I live only 40 minutes from hoffman where they make the sandblasting sand and bag it. They sell it for 4 dollars a hundred pound bag. I have a guy I know that gets his by the dump truck load so i just take my 5 gallon buckets to his place and he fills them for 3 dollars each. So I dont worry about trying to save it when its that cheap around here. It took about 2 of the 5 gallon buckets to do the whole bottom of the cab and about 2 hours minus untaping, blowing the sand off and priming it. Looks like flips got the same blaster I have.
