Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

Sounds like she is bitter about something. Reminds me of my grandmother in law, complaining just to complain ~ only thing that makes her happy. Wouldn't worry about it. Coming along good... I currently live in a HOA and after 1 meeting decided those blue hairs could keep all the next HOA meetings. As in most HOA it isn't written well enough that a lawyer can't pick it apart. One of my neighbors has a huge motorhome beside his house and the HOA told him to move it and his lawyer said he had every right to have it there so now they leave him alone.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

I'm the type who ends up making things escalate, simply because I can't let someone tread on me. I have been in similar situation, however it was my driveway (MY DRIVEWAY, not the road) and had neighbors call the police a handful of times to pay me a visit. After the 3rd visit, I printed every town ordnance pertaining to my vehicle and the repair/modification/storage etc etc etc. Every time they come, I pull out the book and ask them to show me. Each time it ends up with the cop asking me to go in the house long enough for him to leave, that way he can say he "spoke with involved parties" and not get sent out for the same **** that day. Its annoying but even the PD sides with me and apologizes for the pita it can be.
I also have a tendancy to stand on property armed, which doesn't always go over well in a lib-tarded little suburb. Thats a different situation however.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

I would be encouraged to not paint my truck if I had her for a neighbor. I'd also be sure to put anoyingly loud exhasut on it and park it in clear view of her house.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

I lived in a HOA for a few years...I did all kinds of stuff you were not supposed to do...cut up Jeeps and had over 20 motorcycles but it was my 72 Ranchero GT that was the big issue...contry squire with peeling wood grain...hey it was a GT and had the cowl hood with the blinkers I thought it was a sweet ride....but I got pulled over about once a month on my way home from working 2 jobs...it really became a pain in the ass...so I sold it to a guy in the UK.

Don't push the *****..be nice to her, as hard as it may be and explain what the story with the truck is and why you have it, I am sure that she will talk to others and really start **** for you if you push her

Ok and I think your truck is great the way it is, it looks like a good old truck !!

A '72 Ranchero GT... sweet ride.

Funny you bring this up. When I bought my '65 and got it home the wife jumped in and I took her for a ride around the block so she could check it out. As I pull back into our sub-division I see a cop about a 1/4 mile down the road. When I pull into my driveway, there he is, on my bumper giving me the stink eye. He sits at the end of my driveway until I hit the garage door opener and start to pull in.

While it's good to know the police are in the neighborhood, I have lived here 7 years now and have seen a police car two times, and that was one of those times.

Exactly right Bugeyev8. Pissing her off even more will not help this situation at all! Besides, that will not improve anything between you and her as neighboor's. Maybe in time she will just let it go and leave you alone. Who knows, she might have just had a bad day and was looking for someone or something to take it out on (YES, i know that is not right for her to do) so, if it were me i would just ignore it and go going on with your build.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with your neighbor. I say, don't be nice to her because she will probably fall in love with you and then realize this is why her first mexican boyfriend left her in the first place. He found out that trucks were more important than that ignorant a$$ B?$ch anyway. Hey, if you still have problems let me know and I'll get my whole mexican gang to go up there and hang out for a day or so. I would imagine she would love to have about 300 more lowriders out in the neighborhood.

Andice,

Don't forget to remind her that you are just performing your civic duty to " Keep Austin Weird"- wait, she's the weird one, not your truck. We love your truck.

Tell her to kiss it, and move back to ?, but let her know she is not welcome here in N. Texas.

Don't let the Turkeys get you down. Some are destined to die bitter and alone and you can't change that.

The burn-outs you see on my street are from the neighbor kids. I never say anything to them. They know the unwritten rule, when it's my turn to screw-up they keep their mouthes shut.

It sounds to me like she's one of those women that's constantly on her old man's ass to buy a bigger and better house. I'd be very polite to her, and always ask her if she thinks she'll ever be able to move to a nicer house?
hey bro do you live in Garden grove? I live close to a truck like yours! I wrote a note on your truck to see if it was for sale hahaa. We talked on the phone one day. Okay back to the "Main Topic" I had people close around not sure who but would call the city on me about our old cars here. The city lady came oneday when I was workin on an old car I had and she told me I was not allowed to work on it. It had to be in the garage to work on haha. City of Garden Grove at is finest.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

The folks across the street thought it was great when I sold my '69 because they told my wife it was too loud when I went to work in the morning (but they never said anything to me). Then I brought home my diesel and they wanted the '69 back.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

Keep the neighborhood peace. Leave the B.S. at work. None of us want to come home to "headaches".

Having said that, I'd be very tempted to get a horn that played "La Cucaracha" and hit it and wave with a smile every time I saw her.

Sounds like a yuppie old bitty to me. I had a similar issue with my truck. Keep on wrenchin dude and I think that's a wonderful tribute to your buddy. Maybe if she knew the story she would change her mind. She, like many other people who don't understand the significance of old American iron, can pound sand.

When she isnt home ask her husband whose truck is always in the driveway when he isnt home, you know the old hot rod one with the flames. You would like to speak with him about his paint job.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

You can't make everyone happy all the time....it's impossible. Across the street from me i used to look out onto small farms now there are over 700 houses. Now across from them is a guy on property that has 11 trucks plus a Pro street truck. I try not run the truck before 10 am or after 7 pm...moved the fleet to the back shop....bought a hungry dog...built a fence and just try to get along. Well that's my version of getting along anyhow.

Re: Is it me or the neighbor?

Andice ignore her, I had an ex like that she was even tempered, mad all the time. Most likely nothing will ever change her feelings anyway. The important thing is the truck and the friend that gave it to you. Nice to hear you might start a fleet and oh yeah "Nice" truck by the way. This is for your neighbor...Vernski
