Re: 67 C10 SWB Build
Hi Tom & thank you for your comments. The silver is the 2011 Corvette ZR1 "Blade Silver Metallic". It is crazy bright in the sun & I look forward to seeing it in daylight once the sun starts shining in Michigan again!
The tank was built by Boyd Welding in Ocala, FL. I dealt with Dan there and they were very knowledgable and great to deal with. They make a very nice product and will put whatever size fittings you want on the tank. (352-447-2405) We did not have to do any trimming at all, just mounted it right up. Good luck with your build!

Re: 67 C10 SWB Build
The truck looks beautiful. I won't ask what the body work cost, but whatever the price was, your body man earned it. It looks very straight and the gaps look awesome.
The wood bed is beautiful. Nice touch on the SS stripes. IMO, the hood and tailgate would look awesome with some ghost stripes to tie it together. |

Update
Work continues. The plumbing is done, wiring is close, need to get the instruments in & a variety of details before trying to fire it up. Hoping to get it started late next week.
Thank you for the encouragement!

Field Trip!
I had a few parts that I have not been able to find anywhere, so I thought I would check out a salvage yard I had heard about on the net. Quite a good selection of 67-72 trucks and I found the 3 parts I needed!

Re: 67 C10 SWB Build
Hey G- pretty boring stuff, but items I could not find anywhere... A bolt that connects the brake booster shaft to the brake pedal, a rubber shift linkage grommet & a firewall grommet that goes under the gas pedal.

It is alive!
Well, after a complete rebuild and a 1.5 year slumber, we fired up the engine this week. It was great to hear the sounds of a fresh engine and the rumble of new exhaust! Feeling like yet another corner has been turned in this project...
On another note, my son and I came across a 63 Pontiac Grand Prix that was just too clean to pass up. It was repainted a few years ago and never completed. The owner passed away so we purchased it with the intent of getting it finished up and having a nice driver. (I added one quick photo of it after we got it home)

Switches
Hey Geoff.
We don't have a key start on this truck. We went with an old school push button starter in place of the key, so the toggle acts as the accessory power. You must flip up the switch to give power to the push starter. To stop the truck from running, you simply put the switch into the "off" position. There is a hidden key switch as well that will kill power to the toggle if I am somewhere that I need to be sure nobody can start it. Thanks for the comment on the GP. We are excited about it. My son has taken the lead on this one and is doing the bulk of the work.

Bed is on...
Got the bed & the glove box on tonight. The bed is not fastened down, but it sure is nice to see it look like a complete truck again. Progress....!
